Banana peppers are great pickling peppers. I use a very simple recipe that I found by Googling for banana pepper recipes/pickles. I can find and post it if you want, but it's a basic cider vinegar + water + pickling spices thing. You heat it to boiling, then pour it over banana peppers with seeds removed, sliced into rings, and placed in a Mason jar. No need to seal the jar--just add a lid and store in the fridge. They last for months. Thanks, but I have already pickled a bunch. I'm looking for relishes or something, but I was reading that banana peppers will freeze well so I might go that route.

They might ferment well. I fermented bell peppers once, absolutely delicious!

Went through my box of seeds today. Got rid of all that didn’t do well for me. Combined a bunch of seed greens to use for sprouts and microgreens. Just had too much that I spent too much on! I WILL be more conservative in purchasing in the future!

Today I terminated a Harvest full of old parsley. It was just time for that to go. So the Harvest grow deck has been dis-assembled and is in a vinegar/water bath. I'm taking that one out of service for now, which will be the 4th Harvest that's not in use. Finally I've reached the point where sales are not sucking me in... I'm in AG Overload.
I also ditched a patio tomato plant and threatened the single remaining patio tomato plant. It has two golf-ball sized green tomatoes and if they don't start ripening soon then it's out to compost heap for them. I'm taking no prisoners! I'm trying to get things pared down so that it seems like a fun hobby again instead of a full time (low-paying) job to care for the AGs.
I have a small pickling cucumber plant started in a Bounty, so I'm considering terminating the AG cukes in the Farm. It's still thriving but I'm not that fond of those cukes.

What kind of cuke did you start in your Bounty? I started a couple cuke seeds the other day for my Bounty but I think they may grow too big

swimmom500--I started a pickling cucumber variety that I had great success with in my outdoor raised beds earlier this year, National Pickling Cucumber Seeds. I have no idea how it's going to do in the AG; it's a standard vine with small-ish cukes (4-5"). They are a thicker skinned variety that hold up well to pickling without getting mushy. I got them from Amazon.

I need an intervention! Woke up, picked up my phone, checked my Reddit feed, and there it was. $49.99 for an Aerogarden Elite Slim, brand new, with heirloom salad kit. I leave you to draw your own conclusions as to what happened next.

Thanks! I found them on Amazon and put them in my cart. Let me know how yours do since I couldn’t find any info on the big the vines get.

I just purchased a used Bounty Elite for $89 on ebay. I have a few questions if you don't mind.
1. Because it is used should I sanitize it before using and if so how?
2. Can I plant both my Habanero & Giant Jalapeno plants in this and save the full Farm 12XL for the CHOCOLATE LIGHTNING DWARF intermediate tomato or tomato & one pepper in the Farm 12XL and one pepper in the bounty elite?
Sorry for being such a newb lol I am an old country boy raised on a farm but this is a bit different than outdoor farming 🤠🤣

Sorry for being such a newb lol I am an old country boy raised on a farm but this is a bit different than outdoor farming 🤠🤣 I'd just take the grow deck apart, clean everything and run some water through the system (test the pump). Check Aerogarden Experiments youtube channel for a good instruction vid on how to disassemble and clean. You may need to buy replacement pump sponge filters to put a clean one in.
Some people put their grow deck parts in the dishwasher but mine gets so hot that I have been afraid to do that, so I just use regular dish soap or vinegar to clean, using an old toothbrush to scrub.
And yes, a Bounty will hold 2 pepper plants with ease, though after a while you will need to do some pruning. Good luck and congrats on the new Bounty.

I took my Harvest Elite Slim entirely apart. All small parts including pods/spacers got sanitized. Yes, I even took apart the pump. And the grow deck. Figured I might as well learn how for the future.
Everything was really quite clean and probably all it really needed was a basic sanitizing cycle, but curiosity and wanting to get familiar with the process won out.

I run my AGs through a Bosch dishwasher on Fast Wash all the time, with only the big bowls (not the decks) in the lower rack. With Farms, you have to unscrew the water level indicator, of course. I always take the decks and pumps apart. Even I would be afraid to run the AGs through on "sanitize", because they get plenty hot in a 1-hr. Fast Wash cycle. 2. A Bounty Elite can handle two pepper plants, but not three.

2. A Bounty Elite can handle two pepper plants, but not three. I've grown pepper plants that are a yard wide so it depends. I'll try 2 Thai Bird Chili plants this time and see how it goes. Definitely depends on the pepper variety.
Edit - one plant:

So right, tompepper7. I recently had to remove a second pepper plant from a Farm 12XL. The remaining plant is really thriving now.

TODAY... IS TIME CHANGE!
Since I blew away the damn AG app that didn't work worth a damn, I had to manually change the clocks on:
11 bounties, 3 harvests, and 5 external light timers.

The Clock sync still works on Android. I'd better do the sync right now. Forgot all about it, because the AGs are in one room that I don't use much for non-AG things.

My Woot $49.99 Harvest Elite Slim arrived late afternoon and I just unpacked it. However, it arrived sans the salad seed kit. So I guess I will be growing my own seeds in this one! Presuming my old long-style grow baskets fit OK.
I don't want to bother with returning it to Woot, as I'd probably only get a refund and I'd rather have the cheap AG.
Tested the lights, pump works, so otherwise, the garden looks to be a keeper. Twin Slims!

I have ordered the same unit from Woot on 2 different occasions and got an unexpired seed kit both times. But you are right that you probably would only get a refund. I had to return a Ring doorbell that wouldn’t work and was told a refund was my only option.

pfunnyjoy--you might contact AeroGarden CS on their website or Facebook and report that your new machine didn't have the seed pods. They might send you some pods. When I had an issue with a Farm I bought from Best Buy, I contacted AG and they sent me replacement parts (new style trellis).
