I looked for a general discussion thread about our current gardens but didn't find one. Hope this isn't a repeat! I thought it would be fun to discuss what we're growing, any AG issues, etc. so join in if you'd like. Just casual conversation and not specific to any particular model of AG.
I just cleaned and restarted two gardens; one is in the "Spider Farmer" knockoff unit. It is large (12 pods/36W LED/5 liter tank) so I started 4 AG cherry tomato pods. The most annoying thing about the Spider Farmer is that AG plastic pods DON'T FIT so I had to move the seeded sponges and paper covers to different pods. Not a huge deal but time consuming. It was also annoying to have to find and purchase off-brand pods since I have tons of AG stuff already.
In a Harvest I started six lettuce pods; I always have great success with lettuce in a Harvest.
I cleaned out my Harvest Slim which most recently had a kale crop and I'm about to select some herbs to start in it... probably some cilantro and maybe chives. I struggle with chives and usually move them outside after a while.
I'm looking forward to getting cucumbers started in my "Scarfguy Farm" setup in the next day or so. I was thrilled to see that AeroGarden now has a cucumber seed kit but then deflated to find it "sold out." I'll be keeping an eye on that, though.
What's going on with your indoor garden?

Yesterday I planted 6 pods of lettuce in my Veggie Pro-since the lettuce in my Harvest 360 is about ready. Today I transplanted some of my excess tomato plants to new pods so I can put them outside when they get a little larger. I had several tomato pods that had a many as 5 seedlings in 1 pod. I overplanted since my seeds were not fresh, so I was pleasantly surprised. I was hoping one seed would come up and ended up with multiple seeds germinating in each pod. Guess I will soon be overrun with tomatoes. I will have to look for that Aerogarden cucumber kit. I must have missed them adding that. Thanks for the heads up.

swimmom500, there isn't any AG cucumber kit, but a cucumber that grows well in a Farm or Bounty is the Mini Munch cucumber. I got my seeds from Territorial Seeds, but if you Google the Mini Munch you should find at least one other source. Be prepared to learn all about vine management!

I'm still mulling over what to plant in a vacant Farm 12XL. Also it's time to start more lettuce! Probably I'll stick with the Rare Seeds Merlot, because I really love leaf lettuce!

lynnee--I think they just added the cukes today. I was looking at seed kits last night and didn't see them then. I wish they were in stock with the sale going on!

I'm just doing my usual daily maintenance...
Topping off my bowls. Pruning whatever needs a little pruning. Checking my pH and EC levels.
A couple of times a week, I make about 6 gallons of purified water. My tap water has a pH of 9.5 and dissolved solids hovering around 150 ppm.
I run it through a reverse osmosis filter, adjust the pH to 6.5, and add 3 ml of hydrogen peroxide.
Currently growing 4 bounties of sweet peppers, 2 bounties of tomatoes, 2 bounties of cantaloupe, a harvest XL growing italian herbs, a harvest XL growing flowers, A bounty growing flowers, a harvest slim with rosemary and thyme, and 2 harvests growing catnip.
ITS A FULL TIME JOB!

Good heavens, SG! That IS a full-time job! My AGs have been languishing all spring and up until last week when my outside garden played out. The heatwave in Houston has made outdoor gardening miserable so I was happy to wrap that up and move inside. So as long as the electric grid holds up I'll be gardening in the air conditioned dining room!!
As for what I did today; finally got the SG Farm all set up and ready to go. I'm expecting a new Harvest XL in a day or so and considering using it in the SG Farm... still trying to decide which base to use but I want one of the larger capacity bases. I wonder if I can start the plant(s) in the Harvest XL (or Bounty) and when it outgrows the light, detach the light and use the suspended light panel.
I'm moving kind of slow lately; always start out with big plans then seem to peter out before I'm done.

Yes, that's what I do. I start my seeds in a bounty with the light hood and when they get tall, I remove the light hood and use the suspended light panel. For this process, I found I could save some money by just buying the bounty basic model. The 30W light is more than adequate to germinate the seeds and when they get bigger, I'll switch to the 45W LED panel which is almost as much light as the bounty elite at 50W.

Does anyone know if there are add-on trellises for the Harvest XL? I haven't seen them anywhere. Are they the same as the Bounty trellises?
I ordered a 1' light pole extension for the Harvests from an Etsy seller and I'm thinking it would be great to have a taller trellis as well.

I have not seen the harvest XL trellises offered for sale.
NOTE: I don't think the guy on Etsy selling the extensions offers one that fits the harvest XL.
All I see is various harvest and bounty versions.

I'll find a use for the extender. I have 2 regular Harvests and a Slim. I haven't seen an XL IRL so I'll be interested to see the difference in the models.

I got my new Harvest XL today and another "Be the Bee." I gave my daughter my last Bee so I decided to spring for another one. I really like the size of the XL! I have it running right now to test the pump and lights; trying to decide what to plant. Oh, these AG decisions try our very souls!!

slw, I have two "Be the Bee" thingies, and still use them. But if you have a lot of hand pollinating to do (e.g., Fairy Tale eggplant), you can't beat a battery-operated Colgate toothbrush for kids. It's cheap, and has a plain on/off switch, so it turns on and stays on until you turn it off. No need to hold the button down to make it vibrate!

Haha... yeah, I know about the different methods for pollinating. I just like the cute little bee and I'm a sucker for kitsch.
