Today I placed seeds in a Harvest Seed Starter Tray. The kind that holds 23 sponges. So, I pre-soaked sponges for 24 hours and today, I filled the tray with seeds. Attempting 3/per, in most cases. Many were anybody's guess as the seeds are almost microscopic, in some cases. Eventually, the successes will be moved to one side or the other of an AG Farm 24, Basic, but taller ones may go somewhere TBD. Basil - Seed 'n Such Everleaf Emerald Towers (8-12", 40 days) 2 sponges Basil - Baker Creek Greek Dwarf (6", 60-70 days) 2 sponges Chives - Renee's Garden Heirloom Culinary (12" 60-90 days) 2 sponges Chives - Baker Creek Chinese (LOVED the size of these seeds, garlic flavor) 2 sponges Parsley Curly - Park Seed Krausa (10-12") 2 sponges Parsley Flat - Park Seed ProEasy (12-15") 1 sponge Cilantro - Seeds 'n Such Herb Cilantro Santo (20", 52 days) 2 sponges Cilantro - Burpee (18-24", 60-90 days) 2 sponges Thyme - Renee's Garden French (8-12") 2 sponges Thyme - Johnny's Summer (6-12", 90-95 days) 2 sponges Rosemary - Park Seed SimplyHerbs Rosemary (12-24", 42 days) 4 sponges, 1 "seed" each Whew!

You may or may not be able to see much...but, just 24 hours and there is already stuff happening in the rosemary sponges! Amazing, let's hope they keep going! I've never had such luck with rosemary. 24 hours? Usually weeks!

WoW! Rosemary always took me 3-4 weeks to germinate.

I don't think it is germinating...but certainly the outside capsule has disintegrated? At least, that's the working theory.

Are your seeds pelleted?
See the thread on pelleted seeds:

They are pelleted, but a different type of pellet than I've used in the past. These look like the large Tapioca pearls one can get in an Asian store? I've used pelleted seeds for flowers and such and they were much, much smaller. Here's the link to the seeds I got: SimplyHerbs Rosemary Seeds
The reaction with these is obvious. I don't remember that with other pelleted seeds, but then, these are huge!

Day 4:
All of the Basil pods have life. All of the Thyme pods have signs of life.

Over the weekend, Day 14 came along and the garden requested food. I decided to move things from the Seed Starter over to the top Farm+. As outlined in other threads, getting the Farm+ to connect to my wifi, was a challenge. It being a Sunday, I decided to stop messing with it. I got tired of getting up and down on the step stool! I told myself, let's work with this on Monday. Monday came and there were other life challenges to attend to, so I didn't get a round tuit... This morning, I was pleasantly surprised to see that my phone app was telling me that there is a new message from the AG app! I checked and that Farm+ is now connected and all of the data matches what the machine says too. Woo hoo! So glad I didn't have to contact CS, etc. Not all of the seeds sprouted and the only ones, ungerminated, that I moved were the Rosemary pods. Not moved were: Chives (all) Parsley Curley - 1 Parsley Flat - both Cilantro - Santo 1, Burpee both

Day 32: Did some organizing in the garden's room and moved some of the herbs around too. If it looks like they might still be a tad crowded for the long run, keep in mind I have 2 more Farm 12 spots directly below these.
