Started some microgreens in a Harvest Elite today. One side is Johnny's Red Leaf Beets and the other side is Botanical Interests Cilantro microgreens. I used cheesecloth and had to make sure that none was hanging out, as water wanted to drip down the outside. I used about 2 teaspoons of seeds on each.

I tried mine with cheesecloth and for some reason neither side grew. I don’t think it was the seeds as I put 3 different types of seeds in each side. I like a lot of variety in Microgreens and find the Aerogarden ones to be on the bitter side. So I used some of those plus seeds from 2 other Microgreen seed packs I purchased elsewhere. I think the other 2 were from Park Seed and Ferry Morse.

I would be more inclined to fault the seeds? I don't have good luck with Ferry Morse...although Park Seed are usually good for me! But this is the first time for the seeds I used this time...so, fingers crossed!

Thanks for the link. It looks like he used 1 layer of cheesecloth. I used 2 layers. My Aerogarden Microgreen seeds didn’t sprout with the cheesecloth either. They were fine with the felt. I will try this again and try to do it the way he did it in the video. I tried to cut mine so I had a piece for each side similar to the felt. Keep us posted on how your does.

Will do...I'm really curious about the cilantro microgreens, as the regular seeds are tricky!

FWIW, my seeds sprouted on cheesecloth, but I went back to felt because it was easier to harvest the microgreens grown on felt.

Well, only a few of the red beets seeds germinated and none on the cilantro. Maybe I should wait, but I don't want to. Ending this so I can use this Harvest for the Portulacas that are coming to life in the Sprout.
