The Brussels Sprouts were started with a half dose of the Aerogarden Plant Food. Today the water was changed and now using a half dose of the Greenway Lettuce Fertilizer. The plant growth is pretty much identical to the first try. One larger plant, one smaller plant, and one no growth.

Remind me what happened with your first try, tompepper7 ? Reminding you means reminding me by rereading previous posts. Looks like this is my 3rd try at Brussels Spouts (I though it was the 2nd).
For the first try I was doing indoor and outdoor plants using the same fertilizer. I used the wrong mix on the Aerogarden Brussels Sprouts and they quickly died. For the second try I had things happening and did not attend to the Aerogardens for an extended time. Everything but a mature pepper plant died.

Doing a rinse and refill today.
Note on the siphon pump Scarfguy recommended. Works great!
Note on CalMg. The Botanicare Cal/Mg was recommended here. I tried using it with the Aerogarden nutrients in some cases with mixed results. I never knew if my dosages were high or low just because I didn't know if there was some difference between soil use and hydroponic use. I tried the Fox Farm nutrients and they have a hydroponic schedule. One product used for hydroponic is different than for soil use. The Fox Farm nutrients have worked well for me and I have used their Cal/Mg with the Greenway Lettuce Fertilizer which states Cal/Mg needs to be added in addition. The Fox Farm Cal/Mg states it is 1-0-0 and a full dose is 10ml. The Botanicare states it is 2-0-0 and suggests 3-5ml as a full dose. Both suggest a lower dose at first. I will have to try the Botanicare Cal/Mg again feeling more confident on the correct dose.

Day 53. Brussels sprouts doing well. The leaves feel like leather. The larger plant has an indication of something above of the leaf steams where the Brussels sprouts will grow. The smaller plant does not yet.

Me too. The mature height of this type of Brussels sprouts is supposed to be 20-24 inches. So a bit smaller than the branches you may see in the store, but in theory more than one meal. I tend to use 4-5 Brussels sprouts as a serving. |

With today's R&R I did start using the Botanicare cal/mag 2.0.0 @ 5ml/gal instead of the Fox Farm cal/mag 1.0.0 @ 10ml/gal. |

I can't even remember the last time I ate brussels sprouts. I do remember having them with bacon. I know I liked them. I'll have to try them again, soon.
