Did anyone have any luck with the link on the Aerogarden site for a new Harvest 2.0? It’s in the banner at the top but the link appears broken. Any idea what’s new about this Harvest?

Link seems to be working now. Is out of stock. I noticed now 15 watt led. 20 watt seemed weak enough already.

I have no use for that. You can't even grow algae with a 15 watt light.

Also interesting... in the description it says "Includes Seed Packet." Hmmmm. I wonder if they are moving away from seed pods.

I do not see the point of a 15 watt light. Why go dimmer? Sounds like a recipe for slower plant growth.
I do like the sound of a dark deck, as I think that would help with algae. I haven't had a lot of trouble with algae on my Harvest Elite Slims, but there is some present, in spite of using hydrogen peroxide in every nutrient feeding.
I hope they aren't sending the whole Harvest line over to lower lights.
That said, the President's Day sale is tempting. I'd still love another Bounty, and 30% off...

Maybe they are going let people plant the seed packet in the sponges themselves? Could possibly make it easier to keep seeds fresher. And save them the trouble of gluing them into the pods. Who knows? Odd though. As you'd think they'd prefer people using their expensive pre-seeded pods, rather than getting used to sowing their own.

Well, I'm beyond pathetic. I fell for the President's Day sale; I got a Bounty Elite, Bounty seed starting tray, another bamboo shelf unit, and 50 grow sponges for $238. "Practically free!!"
Justification: What if the new Harvest is an indicator of things to come?? I "need" to buy the Elite with the fantastic light while there's still time!! Yeah, they reel me in like a carp.

Did you factor into the cost the addition you are about to build on your home to house all of this?

Why why why would they change the light to 15w and make it sound like a good thing! Do we need to snap up all the harvests we want now before they discontinue them. I guess changing seed pods over to a pack of seeds means there is no 100% germination guarantee any longer. I was hoping this would be an upgrade and not a downgrade.

Maybe AG is just getting too much competition from Chinese knockoffs now so they have to cheapen some of their products. I notice they have gone to the "power button on top of the light hood" design with this Harvest 2 which is a common design with all the wannabees on Amazon.
I hate to see them reducing functionality; just about the only thing that sets them apart is the overall quality of the Aerogardens and the countdown reminders for adding nutes as well as the low-water indicator lights. Most of the knockoffs have some kind of water level indicator (usually a window to halfway see in) but no "feed me" reminder. I have tried 4 off-brands that will work but they just aren't Aerogardens.

Wow, that was fast. AG has already shipped my order which appears to be coming in three separate shipments. Two boxes are coming from somewhere in Illinois and one from Missouri.
Anyone tempted by the 2.0? I think it looks neat but unless it goes on a significant sale I won't be buying. (Kind of like when they do the "add a Sprout for $25" thing!!)

The video (thanks, tompepper7!) shows that the new Harvest is dishwasher safe. So are the old ones, but maybe not in all dishwashers, depending on water temp.

aerogarden.com/gardens/harvest-family/Harvest-2.0.htmlI am still a noob here, but I have to be honest.... I don't like the look of it. I don't like the light button on top of the light, because it seems harder to reach if I have it extended all the way up, under the shelf above it. And a weaker light at only 15W? And no more grow domes? Whaaaaaaa?

CatHerder, I agree with you and the others that the Harvest 2.0 is a step backwards. The only thing I like about it is the detachable light post, which makes the gardens easier to store. Geez, there are so many fewer LED lights on that hood! It's probably much cheaper to manufacture than the previous Harvest model. I have enough AGs, but if I thought I would need more Harvests or Bounties in the future, I'd go after the current models (not meaning the Harvest 2.0s) before they become unavailable. It's what happens when a good product is sold to a conglomerate--cutting costs becomes more important than developing an even better product.

Sorry, I should have searched better before posting about it. I don't have enough to store yet, but that is a good point. Do they discontinue the models frequently? I'm new to this, so I am curious. I think my current favorite is the Harvest XL (since I now have two). But as I do this more, I'm sure that might change.

It's what happens when a good product is sold to a conglomerate--cutting costs becomes more important than developing an even better product. It's my fault, really. The last time I got into it with AG concerning their customer service, I may have actually said it's a shame that with such an excellent product, their customer service sucks so badly. So now they are trying to reach equilibrium by bringing the quality of their product down to the level of their customer service.

I'm really, really, tempted. I would love another Bounty Elite for peppers. Just got chard seeds, those are going in the 40W Bounty.
