A couple of years ago, I had a bounty where the electronics went belly-up leaving me with a variety of spare parts. The bowl works great for onions, tulips, and other bulb plants.

What a great idea for growing bulbs!

SO....
Since I used a spare AG bowl for this experiment, I drilled a couple of holes in the bottom for drainage.
If you wanted to try this with a "good" AG, there is no reason that you couldn't put soil in a bounty (remove the pump and water level sensor, of course). That way you could use the lighting and timing functions of the AG. The only draw back is that you wouldn't want to drill drainage holes in a good AG. I would think that if you are careful, you could just carry the bowl to the sink and water it being careful to not water too much or too little.
Anybody up for AG potatoes?

Or you could use a watering can, scarfguy!

Haha, you're right...
I couple of years ago, I had an orchid somebody gave me that was in a ceramic pot without drain holes. I was able to get just the right moisture in the bark by over-watering it and then putting my hand over the top of the pot and turning it upside down to drain out the excess water. I was thinking that perhaps holding it over the sink might somehow facilitate "squeezing" out any excess moisture from the potting soil.... Didn't really think it through... I'm world renowned for not thinking things through.

Well, I dunno, scarfguy. When you find something that works, it's usually best not to try to improve on it. Overwatering and then pouring the water off sounds exactly like something I'd do!
