Does watering cycle have to continue even though lighting is in the OFF cycle?

For the most part yes. The water needs to circulate to keep oxygen in the water. It keeps the roots healthy.

Does watering cycle have to continue even though lighting is in the OFF cycle? Why would you want to turn off the watering cycle? If you turn off the pump, the water doesn't get aerated. Plants will survive for a while if the pump is off, but will eventually die. If you set the pump to be on for short times (after germination), plant growth will be slowed. The reason I prefer Bounties and Farms is that I can set the pumps to "always on". That produces optimal growth, and the pumps don't use much electricity.  |
