A month or so ago, Seed Needs offered a free "Culinary Herb Garden" seeds set if you purchased 10 packets of seeds. Their seeds are cheap compared to Burpee, Harris, etc., because their packets have a smaller number of seeds. The amounts are more than adequate for AG gardeners, though. Anyway, when my Culinary Herb Garden set arrived, it had 12 individual packets of herb seeds, some containing 50 or more seeds, which made me pretty happy about the deal! The backs of the seed packets have planting and growing tips, as well as snippets of history about the individual herbs. So today I planted an herb garden in a Farm 12XL. I have high hopes for it to replace the retail bottles of dried herbs that have to be discarded regularly due to loss of potency! I didn't plant any parsley, because the vitamin K content is too high for my husband to eat. It interferes with his blood-thinner meds. The black splotch on the grow deck is spilled water.
