2024-10-31: Day 0
Seeds: AG salad greens pods (In my defense, I did not order these.) Aerogarden: Harvest Elite 360 Location: North 40 Water: tap Grow Medium: AG sponges Lettuce Preferred pH: 6.0–7.0 Lettuce Preferred EC: 1.4–1.8
Nutrients: none yet, just pH adjusted tap water
Having received my final ever Aerogarden.com order of a Harvest Elite 360, I want to test out my unit for any issues. I thought about germinating, then planting, a Japanese White Dandelion seed or two. But then I realized that those seeds are relatively fresh and who knows about my assorted AG pods that are kicking around from various eBay/Woot units? Plus, I wanted to get it going immediately, rather than wait on the dandelion seeds. I had no luck AT ALL planting those direct last time, so next try will be paper-towel method germination.
I put three pods of AG mystery salad greens in. I can use the extra lettuce, and I’ll find out if the unit is working properly. So far, so good. Lights are OK, pump is working, display panel is working.
My office is becoming a haven of LED sunshine, even though winter is coming. (Overcast, gloomy, expecting rain tonight.)

You can never really get rid of all those AG Mystery Greens. They can spontaneously generate in the darkness at the bottom of whatever storage bin you have them in.
Just when you think you have used them all up -- Surprise! Look what showed up >> Some more Mystery Greens pods!
It's like a Festivus miracle or the Jelly-of-the-Month Club that just keeps on giving.

You aren't kidding! I keep finding them! I wish AG had never started that biz of just tossing all the varieties together.

Single sprouts in a couple of the pods, so we are at wait and see mode.

Well, I wasn't thrilled with one of those sprouts, it looked weak and leggy. I pulled it out, and found another sprout down deep in the hole, so I took the pod and added it to the lettuce garden in the Bounty downstairs. I found a couple more mystery green pods and am attempting to germinate them. They won't stay in the Bounty if they grow sprouts, but just where I put them if they do sprout remains to be seen.
The healthy looking sprout, which looks like a red romaine, got moved to the Arugula garden.
I cleaned out the garden, and this grow attempt is terminated in favor of a cilantro grow.
