This has truly been a rough ride over the last two weeks. Got dumped with an entirely new and additional set of duties this week - no period for learning HOW to do it or anything and people breathing down my neck for their stuff ... on TOP of my regular duties which OTHER people have been breathing down my neck to get done (um, hello ... I'm ONE person managing the paperwork almost 600 user accounts for the satellite software AND now having to do the work requests to implement all of those changes ... lack of planning on YOUR part does NOT constitute an emergency on MY part!) GRRRR - Rant over.
On top of that, I had to be out of the office for two solid days because I'm now in a management leadership class and that backed up my workload.
And on top of THAT hubby has been on travel all week and I've had the pleasure of dealing with all 4 dogs before work, and from the time I get home till the time I fall over in the evening.
Oh, and yeah - today we had the government shutdown, but we weren't informed it was ok to come to work until after 9am and I would have had to leave at 12:30 to take one of my dogs to the vet today because she's got bloody bowel movements.
... I need a drink ... badly

YIKES, I am sorry you are having a rough time. I hope it passes soon and get get back to some sort of normalcy.
I know what it is like and it really throws a HUGE wrench in your life when it happens.
Hoping it gets better really fast.

I hate it when jobs do that.
You really have my sympathies. I work for a 20 year old company that's been operating in "start up" mode for the last three years, and sometimes it's hard just to slow down and formulate a coherent answer to questions like "Hi. How are you?"

Mine is "No, you can't have it by Friday"

That would work - IF they were asking for it Friday and not “yesterday.”

I used to just smile and walk away while cursing them in my mind. Go back to my office and finish the project as best I can.
