Yellow Jamaican Mushroom Peppers were the most successful. They have Cayenne heat, citrus flavor, and make the best general hot sauce I've ever made. They also kicked out more peppers on an 18" plant than I've ever seen.
The red variety is hotter and equal in heat to any habanero, with better flavor.
On the negative side, chives and spinach were the biggest disappointment that I recall. Oh well.

By far my worst was my Tomato plant I tried (no Mary it was not your fault), but one day I do want to try. My most satisfying projects were my very first Jalapeno pepper plant and the Sweet Heat Peppers which have become a favorite here.

I can't give you an exact recipe, because I never really use one for hot sauce. What I do have is a starting point. 1 lb. Peppers 2 cups Apple Cider Vinegar 2 Tbs. Pink Himalayan Salt 1-2 Tbs. Fresh Finely Chopped Garlic I frequently add Lime Juice and Zest and sweeter fruits like peaches, apricots, nectarines, etc. I almost always add fresh onion. It depends on what is available at the time. When I make what I call a pure pepper sauce, say Habanero sauce, it would stick to the ingredients above, using only Habanero peppers. A year and a half ago, I made a batch of Ghost Pepper sauce. I seriously tamed that down to make it palatable for more people. I used the 22 ghost peppers I grew from 1 plant in that recipe. I cooked that outdoors on the deck. Below is a pic of the ingredients.

Before I do that, if you want to post it there so it shows you are the owner of the thread that is fine too.

Mike, I remember that picture, in all it’s glorious-ness. What a beauty. All my past ones are lost to photobucket (for 3rd party sharing). That is one heck of a bounty!

Eggplants and Tomatoes were the most heartbreaking. Remember Rocky? It was the best tomato plant at first. The plant was big and strong. Then in a week it shriveled up and died. Two of my eggplants did the same. Beautiful plants. Eggs on the vine. Then they died.
Some of your projects will break your hearts, folks. Don't let them deter your interest. There is a learning curve. But some projects make no sense at all. Stick with it and your projects will give you satisfaction.
