Hey all--- : )
My AGs Bounty & Bounty WiFi are on their way. I am brand spanking new to all things gardening...ulp.
Since the WiFi unit will alert me when it needs water, would it better utilized by planting the lettuce in that one? That is, does the lettuce generally go through more water?
Thank you so much! : )

Hi PickMe Welcome to the forum. I do not own the wifi model, but I do find that the lettuce really doesn;;t drink much until it is well into the big growth stage and you are harvesting. If it were me, I would use the wifi alert for those big root projects like tomatoes or peppers. But thats just me. on the other hand, you may want to jump on in and try out your wifi model for other reasons, like the wifi alert when it is time to add nutrients, etc. I have the feeling, though that you will be anxious to try out your new wifi toy pronto..so...why not jump right in and go for it?!

heyoverherepickme, welcome to the forum. I do not own a wi-fi either. For me it is not worth it. I am home and pass my units daily and check them daily as well. I am sure you will be thrilled with whatever you decide to grow!

Welcome to the forum!
I'd definitely use the WiFi for a fruiting type plant that has a large root system, as Corinne said, like Tomatoes or Peppers. They eventually will need water every other day, or more! I have three, energetic Tomato plants in my Extra, and I have to add water every other day. I've noticed that my two young Pepper plants in my Bounty are now needing topping off every other day, too! The other option would be if you're planting something like the Mint family, that sends out huge, long, water sucking rhizomes.

I also thought WiFi was a waste of money but I ended up buying a Harvest WiFi on sale. The feature finally came in handy yesterday as the power went out at home and while my wife was there, she’s unfamiliar with the Harvest and didn’t know how to reset the time. From work I was able to sync the time on the Harvest with the time on my phone and therefore the lighting schedule was not interrupted.

Now that’s something that WiFi would be worth it for me. My power is always having blips, so all my clocks are always off. Very annoying. Anyway, welcome! Did you decide on what to plant in which machine? I’m excited for you - after I got my first 2 machines I was addicted and needed many more AG’s because I wanted to plant everything!
