Has anyone grown sage in an AG, and if so, was it the AG kit pod or your own seed?

I have outside and in soil inside, but not hydroponically. It takes a LONG time to grow from seed to a mature plant, but it’s so good fresh off the plant. Back in the day, I had a really extensive herb garden, and sage was one of the plants I had.

I’d like to grow a sage that is suitable for the AG, be it their kit or a dwarf variety someone had success with. Outside when I grew it, it became a woody monster. But the flavor was so good. True sage. I’m wondering if the AG suitable sages taste the same.

I tried an AG sage pod once, but it didn't taste right That’s what I was worried about. Kind of like how the AG mint and tarragon taste totally different than grocery store because they are entirely different varieties that are suitable for AG size limitations.

Now that I think of it, I had the same complaint with the AG Mint, as well as their Oregano

The AG Mint is Lemon Balm. I bought Burpee Spearmint seeds instead.
