Recommended compact greens/herbs seeds?

Dill and mint are tough. The ones we’re usually familiar with taste-wise are too big for the AG. They grow huge outside. So the AG company is marketing different varieties of mint and dill that fit, but taste quite different. 

For lettuce I love one called Dragoon.  It’s like a mini romaine type habit. I bought mine at Johnny’s Seeds but I’ve seen them elsewhere too.  Little Gem is also great and available from many purveyors.  Many fancy restaurants use this in their salads.  One of Mike’s favorites is Jericho lettuce which he’s growing right now.

Most seeds marketed as Baby Bok Choi are suitable for the AG. Mike has grown a lot of it, and I believe has some growing now too.  Check out our various seed stash lists to see what we’ve all tried.  Also view our past Choi/Choy gardens. I used to grow it constantly but haven’t in quite a while so might not have any gardens on here to view. But it’s in my seed stash list, and those that I’ve listed I’ve definitely grown successfully in an AG.

Any chives will work. You just keep snipping from the top. It’ll never get too tall unless you stop using it. 

Lastly, as to kale, I’ve only ever grown it from one seed, and while I wouldn’t say it was at all dwarf, it was manageable. (That one is also listed on my seed stash).

edited to add:  I have a ton of lovely types of Japanese greens seeds if you’re interested in those. Most are small enough for the AG.  They’re fun to grow.
