I'm finding more room in my apartment for more AGs Have you had an Ultra and/or an AG 6 LED? Your opinions would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Happycamper, I see you are becoming an AeroGarden Addict like the rest of us.
I only own the Ultra of the two and I like it. I think we have members with the other.

If we’re talking about the same 6 hole, the Ultra has 30 watts of LED lighting as opposed to the 6’s 20 Watts. And the Ultra’s hood extends to 24” compared to the 6’s 12”. Regarding splitting the deck of the Ultra for cleaning, if it makes you feel any better, most of us never knew that that was a possibility until recently and so just cleaned our systems by running bleach water or vinegar through the channels. And our gardens turned out fine. In other words, if you don’t want that hassle, no dire need to do it. Having said that, if you’re talking about the 6 hole that fits in a corner, I loved that shape and found it very useful, so if your space will only, or most comfortably, fit the corner unit, go for it. (Just remember the height and light limit)

The Ultra is a terrific unit. I have a bunch of them. However, the Bounty has a 45w hood as opposed to the 30w Ultra Hood. The extra holes on the Bounty are useless in my opinion. I have 3 Bounties I plan on using Ultra grow deck/basins on soon.

Thank you, Mary and Mike. - Does the increased wattage really make a difference for growing lettuce or brassicas?
- Mike, I don't understand "I have 3 Bounties I plan on using Ultra grow deck/basins on soon." Are you saying that Ultra deck/basins will fit on Bounties?
Thanks again.

The increased wattage makes a big difference on fruiting plants. Not so much on greens and herbs.
The basins are the same. The grow deck is different. But they should fit on each other. The Ultra grow deck is easier to disassemble, but still difficult. If you are talking greens, the Bounty deck may suit you better. I also don't like covering all the open holes.

I agree with what Mike said. Also the Extra and Ultra are the same 30 wattage and same amount of holes on deck. Just one has a display while the other does not.

Hello again. Does the Ultra have a water pump (like the original AGs) or an air pump? Or something else? Thanks in advance.

Hello again. Does the Ultra have a water pump (like the original AGs) or an air pump? Or something else? Thanks in advance. I Know the Harvest (pump goes on 5 minutes every hour), Extra, Ultra and Bounty (pump goes on for and hour every 12 for the first two weeks then on continuiosly there after unless you change the settings) have the same pump inside.
