I'm so happy with my 2 new Ultras!
1. The deck is as roomy as my old Classic 7. This is an absolute necessity for lettuces and other "bushy" greens.
2. You can override the default settings. (e.g. You can have the pump run longer during the germination phase. I like this so I can make sure that my sponges don't get too dry.)
3. It's quiet, unlike the models with air pumps.
4. The bowl shape is an improvement over the Classics 7. (With the Classics 7, the pods at the end can't be pushed all the way in, due to the shape of the bowl.)
Thanks to those of you who gave me your opinions. If I remember correctly, they were all positive.

Numero Uno: The SS6 Numero Dos: The Bounty(which would be first if they hadn't broken down on me so early.)
But: my ALL time fave was the Classic 7 with the CFL bulbs, would ya believe?!!

Corinne, I just got a "new", unused Classic 7 from ebay... and it has the original round (not flat) CFLs! It also included those unneeded plastic struts. It's fun to go down memory lane.
I'm curious what you like about the SS6 (besides that it looks so cute in corners.)

Congratulations! They really are neat machines, and you will enjoy many gardens with them for a long time. What will be your inaugural gardens? (Apologies if you told us in a different thread)

Hi Mary, Actually I had 17 AGs a number of years ago. (I was on Corinne's board and the one before hers.) After much misery from the pollen from my tomatoes, I trashed all of the tomatoes, and grew only leafy greens. Then I had to downsize in a hurry. I left all 17 of them behind. Now I'm building up my collection again... and only growing leafy greens. How many AGs do you own?

Hi Mary, Actually I had 17 AGs a number of years ago. How many AGs do you own? Oh yes, I remember that from some of the other threads here. And I think I even remember you from your prior name, too. I’m so glad we’ve reconnected! Regarding the “inaugural” I was meaning the christening of your new LED gardens as opposed to your CFL’s. I used to have mostly CFL gardens (13 or more) but have gradually switched over to mostly LED gardens. There are things I love and miss about the CFL gardens. Their simplicity was wonderful. But I don’t miss the keeping track of dates on the bulbs and reordering and storing them. Nevertheless, I still have almost all of them stashed in a closet, always meaning to test various components to decide what to keep and what to toss. I suppose I should toss them all, but I can’t bring myself to. Now I have around 11 going in the kitchen and laundry room, but only about 9 active right now. And 2 Sprouts were a recent addition. I’m liking those to jumpstart indoor gardens that need to be staggered (great for herbs, greens). But I need to get on it more, lol!

Mary, I'm so glad that we've reconnected, too! I like how you use your Sprouts to jumpstart new pods. That's how I'm using my Harvest, as my greens will outgrow it. Since my kitchen isn't very big, I set up this table in my dining area www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/S09932177/#/S29932181I have 3 AGs on the top, and two under it. Of course, I keep the ones with the most foliage on top!

Space is certainly always an issue. I suppose technically I’m also using my breakfast room, which would total 3 rooms, but it’s kind of one long continuous room so I still just think of it as the kitchen. Having enough outlets is a challenge too!
