Thank you. I changed the water just now and added new nutrients. One of them jis really slow, Paris Island. Wonder why?

My Parris Island was also slow. But when it finally came up, the leaves were dark and leather-y... which makes me feel like they might be more nutritious. So I just bought a packet of Parris Island seeds

What makes you think leathery leaves are more nutrtious? That is interesting.
If you want nutritious green try growing beet greens. I have a pod of them not planted yet.

"What makes you think leathery leaves are more nutritious?" Just my unfounded and wild imagination that since they look more like spinach & kale, they are more similar nutritionally. ;-) Who knows? Perhaps they're nutritional duds. "If you want nutritious green try growing beet greens. I have a pod of them not planted yet."This list of nutritious greens (from Joel Fuhrman) doesn't include beet greens, but I'm sure they're near the top of the list. www.aerogardenaddicts.com/thread/824/nutrient-levels-various-veggies-herbsSince I have trouble germinating beet seeds, I stir some organic beet powder into my drinks. Please let us know how your pod of beet greens does! I hope it will be wildly successful.

Now its day 19! I have given some leaves to my birds and they love them, but not the red lettuce. They are not used to eating red leaves yet and somewhat hesitant to do so. Wont be long before I can make a salad!

It is nice that they can enjoy what you are growing. And yes, you will have lettuce soon!

Nice looking greens!
I wonder if their vision sees the red lettuce as super different. Because the variety is not like the really dark red lettuces. My sister and I were just talking about this - the color spectrum visible to dogs, people with color blindness, etc. I wonder what birds see?
