Planted a Sweet Heat today! In a Harvest. Old seed, so hopefully it’ll germinate. Also planted a bunch of basils for transplantation later.

More Sweet Heats! It’s like a impromptu GAL.

Whoo Hoo! If your seeds aren't viable, let me know. I can send you some. I got mine at Reimer's, and I have at least one baby that's going to uncurl and pop up likely today, so they're good.

Day 12 (yesterday) and I suddenly saw my seeds are definitely viable. Time to cut one out.

3 weeks. They’ve grown, and I forgot I need to cut one out. In fact I forgot I had it! I also need to find a machine for it, lol. I had meant to grow this in its own Harvest, but all 5 are occupado. I had thought that by now I would’ve terminated the Fairy Flowers GAL, but it’s just gotten prettier so I don’t have the heart. I have a tall machine I could use. I just really wanted to grow it in a Harvest. I should’ve planted 2 pods.

I wish the Harvest was just a bit wider, to accommodate two of the smaller pepper plants. Can't have everything, I guess!
Looking great!

Both are looking healthy. Either one looks like it would be good to keep or trim out.

I guess I can put him in a spare hole of a new tall garden I can start, while the light hood is still low. I just have to figure out what that new garden will be. Decisions, decisions.

Sadly I did terminate the Phlox flower garden, but now this pepper has a great new home, in a Harvest where I wanted it. I thoroughly washed the machine and added AG nutes, and I clipped all the largest leaves, which is why you probably can’t spot the pepper plant, just left of middle. I also transplanted herbs from other gardens (parsley and cilantro from the kitchen herbs and the cilantro from the flower GAL) to this garden, because I needed to decongest the other burgeoning herb gardens. The only problem is that I added only minor nutes for the herbs, but of course the peppers need more. I do have pepper buds, though!

How much nutes did you give? I can’t remember (of course, as usual... Because I always think I’ll remember and never write things down. ). I think I fed 6 ml AG nutes. Maybe I’ll add 2 more in a few days.

Some of my pepper leaves are not happy. They’re mottled and discolored, that’s not funny reflection or shadows from the lights. And my cilantro in the same garden is turning red/purple too.

I read that Cilantro leaves will turn red when there is a change in air and/or water temps.
Them being in the same garden can also cause an issue with the peppers. Cilantro or the peppers may be changing the phosphorus of the water and also changing both plants.
I would separate and give Cilantro COLD water. Leave the pepper plant by itself. The Sweet should recover when alone. Change the water too.
I have no first hand knowledge, it is just what I read

It makes sense. The water was pretty warm yesterday and I dumped several ice cubes in all at once. To separate them I need another Harvest machine, lol. I might actually place the pepper in an Earthbox outside - there’s that 4th space where the one transplant died.

Several days ago I moved all the herbs out, so the Sweet Heat has a place all to itself. It was looking ok. Then yesterday it was looking quite wan, so I got my ppm meter out. To my shock it read only 78!!! So I added 4 ml of AG food. Several hours after that, and several pump cycles later, I read it again. It was still quite low - I must have missed a feeding or something. So I added another 4 ml.

Well, it looks better, thank G-d. I was scared there, reading the posts. Are you feeding CALiMAGic or Mooch, too? It should be, (going on memory), somewhere around 1100-1500ppm.

Maybe it’s because until now it was always with herbs so I held off. I need to remember going forward to add it now that the pepper is alone. Thanks for bringing that up Kate. I hadn’t realized I was doing that. Or not doing that, lol.
