Today is the 6th day of growing a few herbs in the Aeogarden Harvest unit using their pods. Upon waking up this am I see the little green seedlings for the first time.
Seedlings:
Kale - not yet visable 2 basils - seedlings visable Beet greens - not yet visable Parsley - not yet visable
This seems to be in tune with what the pod labels say for germination time. Curley Parsley will take the longest to show seedlings. The 6th hole for planting is covered. All of these herbs can be safely eaten by my two lovely little birds.

Basil is a fast grower for sure. Parsley is slow but once it does start to grow it grows. I have no experience with the other two but hopefully they will soon see some life.
Your birds will have a wonderful feast once the garden gets going d45692

Woke up this am to find the electricity went off sometime during the night. I do have the back up battery I bought on amazon in use for the Harvest unit, however the lights did not come on as scheduled at 4 am. I fixed the wall outlets that tripped off and the lights came back on. So the battery unit did not re establish the light which was the main reason it got it. The timer and the settings was still set on day 7 and the light cycle was not disturbed. Strange...………………..

The one I have has two rows of plugs, one for just surge and the other for battery and surge. I just assumed you had one like mine but now I remember you purchased a different one.
Sorry for the confusion

It looks pretty straight forward. You probably did it correct. Maybe just a glitch. But having the lights go off is an easy fix. It did Dave your progress so that is good

All seedlings are up except parsley and the kale which is late according to the label.

Day 13 and the leaves of the beet greens are a beautiful ruby red. I will have to take a photo to show you soon. Both basils are coming on. However the kale and parsley both have not even started. Thinking I have a bad kale pod because the germination time on the label says 6 to 8 days. Aeorgardening teaches if "patience" as do pet birds in your life. You can try to hurry them but it does not work.

The color of the beet greens sound wonderful. I can not wait to see them. Try throwing in a few ice cubes to the water to cool it off more. SOMETIMES that helps seed up germination but not always. Check your water temp first by sticking your finger in to see how it feels. It warm or hot to touch I would add in ice. Plus greens and herbs like cold water whereas peppers and tomatoes prefer it warmer. Looking forward to the Beet Greens Pic

I will be changing the water and adding nutrients tomorrow. I took out the parsley and kale pods that show no seedlings to get a closer look. I can see what looks like a little stem curled down as if the leaves cannot pop up. So I will keep trying a few more days. Also I will add ice cubes if the water feels warm. Thanks for the suggestions.

I'm so glad that your beet greens have germinated. It's not easy!

I'm so glad that your beet greens have germinated. It's not easy! Thanks. They were actually up before the Basil was! However its a no go for the kale. Curley parsley is showing its tiny leaves but not through the hole yet. I will give the kale a few more days. Is it worth getting a replacement for just one pod?
