For those of us who are fascinated with peppers of all kinds, I’d highly recommend this story about the Aleppo pepper from The NY Times today. www.nytimes.com/2018/10/09/dining/aleppo-pepper-syria.htmlIt’s got quite the history and I find it exciting that it’s being grown domestically now. Where can we find seeds?

Fascinating! I had always heard of Aleppo pepper, but never knew anything about it, let alone why it was special. What a remarkable history and role it has played in the region, and elsewhere for those in the know. And yet another tragic casualty in the Syrian war. I wonder if we could procure seed from the US agricultural seed bank like Refining Fire Chilies did.
Coincidentally, for my birthday I was given a gift certificate to the Spice Station referenced in the article. I knew it had a great reputation for authenticity and for some rare (to us) spices, but now I have even more reason to go and explore their offerings.
Thank you, Nick, for such an illuminating article. Are you at all near Race City Sauce Works to try their sauce?

Thank you, Nick, for such an illuminating article. Are you at all near Race City Sauce Works to try their sauce? You’re welcome! Charlotte is about three hour drive from where I am. We do occasionally make it down that way. Usually to visit IKEA. I’ll have to remember them next time we make the trip.
