Many of you have grown Parris Island Lettuce pods from AG. It seems to get a slower start than the looser-leaved lettuces, but I find that it holds up better and produces even more leaves in the end. It seems to do well when it's not overshadowed by the bigger loose-leaved lettuces. I love the sturdy, hardy leaves. AG Parris Is planted in my Classic 7 LED on 9-30 with an R&R on 10-10: I also planted Cornucopia seeds (cheap in my garden store) in my Ultra on 9-26 with an R&R on 10-6. (It might have grown faster in the Ultra since it has higher light output than the Classic LED)

The leaves look so frresh! and I always admire you all who have pristine, crud -free decks! Mine are all spotted with white mineral deposits from the nutrients, and I can't get them off even with a brillo any more!

Corinne, have you tried soaking them in vinegar? It should dissolve the deposits. Thanks for the compliment! (Remember, my AGs are a lot newer than yours )

I agree your decks (and greens) look pristine. The visually worst of my afflicted machines are the white ones, but since I see the stuff sooner in those than the black, it doesn’t become stuck-on stuff. For the worst conditions I find the Barkeepers Friend *foam* works well (I think that’s thanks to Mike for discovering). I’m not ever enthusiastic or dependable when something calls for elbow grease.

I have been using Barkeepers Foam for a while. It may not take it all away but does a darn good job.
