Currently day 20 for these AG heirloom cherry tomatoes. How do they look?

Also noticed that some of the new growth is a lighter shade of green. Is this normal for tomatoes?

Day 27! They're growing a bit slower than some of the other cherry tomato posts I've seen, but they still look healthy. Should I wait another week to top these? There are 5 or 6 branches so far. Also, some of the roots are touching the pump filter, does the filter work well enough, or should I trim the roots?

Topping would be fine now, also try spinning/twisting the plants to twist up the roots is what I do before trimming them back. They look good. You should bare some nice fruits in a bit.

I am a noob at growing tomatoes, I waited for more then 5 real branches and cut at the fifth. You can look here on how I counted the branches and where I cut.

You're doing OK. Lookin' good. That will make 'em bush out rather than grow upwards. Just sit back and wait, now.

They got noticeably bigger overnight, so I topped them The roots are starting to touch the pump filter, should I trim them?

I turn my pants every few days to keep the roots contained into a loose ball.

I turn/spin mine around too. Helps keep the roots together.

I turn/spin mine around too. Helps keep the roots together. Wait, so you just pull the pod out slightly and turn it? If I pull the pod out all the way, I won't be able to get all the roots back in.

Here they are the next day, rotated. Great tip! The roots are all facing away from the pump for now. The plant on the right is leaning pretty heavily, will this be fine, or is there anything I can do to keep it straight?

yes treebeard , I just lift a little and turn. I have had HUGE root balls in my tank not affecting the pump. Here is a picture of one with roots although I have had larger ones.

Any tips for keeping the right plant's stem straight? Ties? Or should it be ok if it's leaning a bit now?

They grow they way they grow. I think turning them helps. I turn mine even when really full and large. Remember they grow toward the lights so they do tend to bend that way. Hence me turning.

Yes, ties are fine. That's what I use. Turning them too helps as said above.
