wftio, The "live chat" button is back on the Aerogarden web page. That is an effective way to get a fast answer to a question like yours. Does your AG allow you to set both On and Off times for the lights? Try going to your "Lights" setting from the menu, and check whether the settings call for a 24-hour period. It's fairly normal for AG lights not to work if you don't get the connecting plugs fully pushed in, or if a connection comes loose when you're fiddling with a trellis or something. The lights usually work okay if you get them to come on at all, so I'd suspect a problem with the circuit board or your settings. ???o

Hello all, My name is Tammy and I am in the Greater Boston area. I recently purchased my first Aerogarden - a Bounty Elite. I wanted the 9 holes so I could try to grow a selection of things. Everything sprouted fine. I planted herbs, lettuce(s), and heirloom tomatoes. Initially, the light didn't turn on and I thought that was because it was not supposed to right away. Then it seemed as though it should. So I looked up some posts and realized there was a problem. I pulled the lighting post out and placed it back in and the light came on! Problem solved! No... Now the light never turns off. It is on 24/7. I have tried to reset it according to instructions I have read here and elsewhere. I have unplugged and plugged it back in. Any other ideas or should I just call the 800 #? I fear I have a faulty lighting fixture and will have to return the unit -- purchased on Amazon and I am not sure if I could manage the process (but that is not your problem!) Thanks for any words of wisdom.
Hello and Welcome Tammy.
I am sorry there is an issue with your unit. Have you tried what others here have suggested? Has the light gone off? I know when I had my Bounty, I did not have the tube plugged in tight enough and that caused a "problem" but once fully connected it worked. As for buying it from Amazon, if you purchased via Prime the process should be easy and if in stock they can send you a new one. You can also contact Aerogarden for help although you may be better off returning for a replacement from Amazon. AG can also send a replacement out via their warranty if applicable.
Please keep us posted.

wftio, I agree with Shawn. I would immediately return it to Amazon. It is not working right and most likely will not get better.
You will have to start over with your plants, but at least you should get an Aerogarden that you can depend on to give you years of enjoyment.

You may be able to keep your plants in that unit if you do not need to return first. When the new unit comes transfer over. But if you do need to start over that is ok. That is the fun of AG's you can start and start at any time all year long

Hello, all. Taleena (Melissa) here. Brand new (as of Dec 18) to Aerogardens, but an off and on semi-black thumb that has occasional lucky seasons of green. I've always loved trying to grow things, but it's never quite worked out completely due to other life commitments that necessitated plants & gardens being neglected. Now that life seems to have settled down in middle age, I've decided to take up gardening again. Several outdoor plants here in Central Florida that are doing well after a year or so (cat palms, ti plants, crotons, etc), and now an Aerogarden Harvest that I received & started with the heirloom salad greens pods on 12/18. Not a single sign of life in the Deer Tongue or Marvel of 4 Seasons pods, so contacted AG about those for replacements, stripped the pods, and re-seeded with a generic lettuce mix from the local Lowes a couple days ago (12/25) that seems to be starting off well (new sprouts showing after only 2 days). And I'm hooked enough on this method/style of gardening that I just ordered a Farm 24+ this afternoon. Yeah, I know I need to learn patience, but I'm definitely open to any and all AG hints/tips/advice that you'd like to send my way.

Way to jump in there, Taleena! Congrats and welcome to AGA! You're in good company here...you'll find a lot of like minded folks. My best advice is to take a look around and then just jump in with questions and observations. We're happy to hear from you, happy to share and look forward to seeing and hearing about your projects!

Welcome Taleena (Melissa),. I am happy you found and joined us. I too had a black thumb prior to Aerogardening. I was hooked fast and furious and here years later I am still loving it and always growing. Please know we are here for you. Feel free to ask questions, jump in on already started conversations or start one of your own. We love to help, encourage and, yes enable others
I look forward to hearing more and seeing your projects and gardens.

Hi! I'm excited to join your community. I have 3 Harvest Elites on the way... one for salad one for herbs and one just for cilantro! I'm a very experienced gardener but herbs inside during the winter in soil is difficult. So I'm trying this on for size. I keep Bonsai, so hopefully this will be another good growing hobby for me. I had a large outdoor garden for many years, but got too busy to really do it well. So a couple years ago switched to a raised bed type garden closer to the house. Great for summer, but I still want my green in the winter! I'm in Ohio - Judy

Hi all! (β'β‘'β)
I'm a lurker so you won't see much of me, but thank you for all of the helpful advice here. (if only I had read it before I started playing with the grow your own seeds kit...) I have a Harvest for herbs that I got a couple months ago, and just set up a Bounty for some tiny tim tomatoes. I'm a cactus killer so I'm hoping I do better with plants that need more water. Wish me luck.

Hello, aster and welcome to AGA! I hope and really do think that you'll find the Aerogardens a pretty easy, fun and addictive way to garden! Are you having an issue with your Tiny Tims in the Bounty? Anyway, welcome and I hope we do hear from you, as you are so moved!

Anyway, welcome and I hope we do hear from you, as you are so moved! No, I actually just set them up today! But I hadn't read the tips about soaking the sponges first or anything. I also need to get some Cal Mag, but I'll be able to get that before they need it.
Thank you for the welcome. You guys are so friendly.

Thank you for the welcome. You guys are so friendly. Pre-soaking isn't mandatory! Just take a look at them and make sure they are wicking the water. If one seems dry and/or floating instead, then maybe pour an extra bit of water on it...slowly and carefully. You don't want to float the seeds away! Love your avatar, and thank you for the "friendly" comment! I agree! This is a friendly place!

Hello everyone,
My name is Karl. I just stumbled across this site this evening while researching replacement parts for my Classic 6 and knew right away that I needed to join. I have been using AeroGarden's for about 5 years and currently have a Classic 6, an Ultra LED, and an 8-pod DIY garden I built using a smallish Rubbermaid container.
I live up in the mountains in northern New Mexico (above 8000 ft elevation) so the outdoor growing season is extremely short. I actually lost an entire garden one year on July 4th because the night temperature got down to 19 degrees. Luckily this isn't very common but it makes every outdoor garden attempt a gamble. Anyway, this was how I got interested in the indoor AeroGardens. I've mostly grown greens, cilantro, tomatoes, chives, and basil.
To the reason for my visit.... The air pump in my Classic 6 has slowly degraded in performance and I am wondering if anyone has recommendations for getting replacement parts (AeroGarden or other). With a new air stone installed, I would guess I am getting about 30% of the aeration that I got when the Classic was new, I know I can add an external aquarium pump but it would be nice find a semi-identical replacement that I could wire in and keep the system intact.

I canβt tell if the pumps that AG sells on their website would be compatible with your machine - if not, and no one else chimes in, might try getting in touch with their customer support! They can be a little slow to answer, but they have always done right by me when I needed replacement parts.

I have not checked the AG site lately but as maskedsonnet suggested, try contacting them directly. You can also check on Amazon, they may still have some ole pumps there. Glad to have you with us!

All of the pumps that I saw on the Aerogarden site were for water circulation, unfortunately. I have not tried contacting them directly though. My assumption was that they would consider it a non-replaceble item since the power wires are soldered to the circuit board. I'll reach out to them and see what they say.
Thanks!
