I decided to give this a try. Growing Mung Bean and Broccoli sprouts in mason jars. I picked up some screen sprouting lids and I rinse the seeds twice a day. On the top you can see a Mung Bean sprouting very nicely in the first 12 hours. On the bottom, you can see several Broccoli seeds braking open to sprout.

I like sprouts a lot better than microgreens. Those are going to be good!

These are coming in nicely. Here are the Mung Bean Sprouts after a couple of days. And despite my inability to take a decent picture of them, the Broccoli Sprouts are really rockin' and rollin'.

I couldn't stand that photo of the broccoli sprouts so I deleted it from Flickr. Here is a better one.

Yumm... I mixed shredded chicken breast, 4-cheese Mexican in mayo with pepper and Creole seasoning. I added a healthy amount of broccoli sprouts and wrapped it into a low carb tortilla. The sprouts are slightly spicy. They are much lighter and crisper than store bought. I love the texture! I have enough chicken mixture to try with the mung bean sprouts in a wrap for breakfast. I can't wait!

They grow so fast. I have never had either, actually had micro anything. I might have to be adventurous one day and try.

I had a wrap using the remaining chicken from last night. I used a lot of mung bean sprouts and two choi leaves. It was delicious. I think I like the broccoli better, but they are both great. The bean sprouts are getting huge. I used a lot this morning and the jar is full again already.

A week later and the task is done. One bag each of broccoli and bean sprouts. Next time I will pull them earlier. The roots are developing too fast.

Your welcome. I just ordered some plastic mason type jars for doing this. My neuropathy in my hands and feet has caused too much glass to break in my household. I'm trying to replace it with plastic where I can.
