Today's harvest. The cuke got the better of me again, with two extra-large. Lots of Anaheim peppers that I don't know what to do with. Looks awesome! Are those 3 red peppers on the far right from the Aerogarden Bell Pepper kit? Since the kit has been OOS forever, I have been looking at what bell pepper seeds to use as an alternative. I have a California Wonder in a Bounty. Nice and lush but no fruit setting yet.

Yes, swimmom500, the peppers are from the current AG bell pepper kit. The previous kit produced bigger peppers--these are a bit smaller than the ones you find at the grocery store. The bodies are about 4", maybe a little longer.

I have the AG Jumbo Veggies Seed Pod Kit, which includes bell pepper. On the box, it says the bell peppers are "PlayMaker" seeds, which are available on Amazon. I have not bought the seeds but I plan to.

Is there a reason you didn’t just save the seeds from the pod in the Jumbo Veggie kit? I haven't grown them yet; I just bought the pods a week or so ago.

The proof is in the pudding: On 11/10, I aggressively pruned the Veranda Reds in a Farm 12XL, and predicted that the canopies would be back in a couple of weeks. On 11/19, only 9 days later, the canopies are back, new fruit has formed, and the green tomatoes (about half a dozen in the middle dark area) are ripe and ready to harvest. Some of the older leaves are drying out and need to be removed for optimal plant performance.

Today I started a 9-pod petunia garden with pelleted Eden Brothers seed (packed for 2022). I'm not fond of pelleted seed, and the seed is old, so my fingers are crossed. Petunias should be nice for winter, if they grow!

Hey, lynnee, I had no luck with pelleted seeds in an AG either. I finally figured that the pump germination mode was permitting the pellet casing from only partially melting and then drying out again. This resulted in the seed inside dying. I got much better results by dissolving the pellet in a small beaker of water and then sucking up the seeds with an eye dropper and depositing them on the sponge.

I don't have any more seeds, so I set the pump to run continuously. (They're in a Bounty Elite.) Maybe that will melt the pellet casings. When I bought the seeds, I had no idea what "pelleted" meant!

I'm very hopeful about the pelleted petunia seeds. Most of them seem to be swelling. The sponges are definitely wet. Photos will come when/if there are actual sprouts.

There is activity in the pelleted petunia seed garden! Two of the pods are showing tiny leaves, atop the sponge but too far below the deck to photograph.

Today I moved the two Veranda Red tomato plants out of the Farm and into a Bounty. This will be a true test of their resilience, because I had to separate and trim the roots, pull the roots out of the Farm deck (ouch! that must have hurt!), and then prune the plants to fit the space in the Bounty. So far, they look good. The "after" photo (below, on top) was taken at least 4 hours after the deed was done. I needed the Farm for one of the two Dwarf Awesome pods that were started 8 days ago. If it weren't so hard to keep up with the low-growing cherry tomatoes in the Farm, I would have discarded one DA pod or put it into the Bounty. But the VRs really should have been in a Bounty from the start. They are now at 84 days.

They don't look unhappy, so that's a good sign!

In the past, flowering plants have survived this treatment when they needed to be transplanted outdoors. However, this is the first time I've treated already fruiting plants so harshly. Once I trimmed the roots of a green pepper plant, before it had peppers on it. It was really mad at me, and sulked for a month before it started blooming again.

Most of the pelleted petunia seeds have sprouted! I'll need to thin them a little, I think. They're at 15 days now. It worked to change the pump settings to "always on".

The pelleted seed petunia garden, started on 11/20, has finally produced a petunia! I know that these plants are crowded, but it's too cold to transplant them outdoors. They'll just have to make do!

Healthy lookin' lettuce!
Looks like you will soon be spending your days cleaning wilted flowers from your sticky petunia!
I love the look of the petunias but cleaning them is a nasty, sticky job.
