A bit of bloom nutrients might encourage the pepper to hold onto its fruits.

I added some CalMag and Koolbloom, Sher, but maybe not in the right amounts. The bigger peppers did start growing faster after I added the extras. Tomorrow I'm doing an R&R for this garden, so I'll give a lot of thought to the quantities of nutrients.

Be careful with the quantities. I'm getting leaf curl I don't like in areas. Primarily on the newer jalapenos. I may scale back a bit.

My new Farm XL arrived today (45 lbs.)! The FedEx deliveryman set it inside the door, which was much appreciated. I have to unpack these big gardens in stages--usually in the front patio--because the full boxes are so heavy. I'd forgotten just how much packing material is involved for a Farm 12 XL. There is a giant box, with another giant box nested inside (like two nesting Russian dolls). Then there is a long giant box containing the uprights, a big box acting as a spacer, and four big molded cardboard pieces that hold the hood & light and the grow bowl. All of this is high-quality cardboard that is hard to cut with a box cutter. In addition, there are soft plastic bags that protect the uprights from scratches. After all the effort it took to cut up the cardboard for recycling, I'm too tired to assemble the garden today! But I am looking forward to growing a cucumber soon! 🥒

I totally understand the need to take a break too! Can't wait to see the new project!

Today I spent the morning clearing space for the new Farm 12XL. (How did I ever get that file cabinet upstairs by myself, when it was so hard to get downstairs?) This afternoon I set the Farm 12 XL up, and assembly only took about an hour and a half. (Third time's the charm?) Everything seems to be working--keeping fingers crossed. Tomorrow I will plant a cucumber and some tomatoes.

My mini jalapenos are finally producing fruit. I'm pleased because they got off to a very rocky start. Now they have lots of foliage, a fair number of blooms, and quite a few developing peppers.
Photos to come after I do some pruning and can see what is really there.

I'm looking forward to hearing more about the Jalapenos! They are a staple in our house & show up in surprising place...LOL. Several in today's Albondigas, a few days ago I needed them for the beans...and then there's the chicken bombs...yum!

campingcorgis , Suggestions for using fresh jalapenos are welcome, now that the plants are bearing fruit. I had three plants, but removed one today because it was very short and not getting any light. Sad, because it was healthy and had some blooms. The jalapenos are on the left; the sweet bell pepper and banana peppers are on the right: The jalapenos are hard to photograph in their location, but here are a few: The upstairs bell peppers are finally turning red.

The jalapenos are on the left; the sweet bell pepper and banana peppers are on the right: The jalapenos are hard to photograph in their location, but here are a few: First suggestion would be to do a search for Jalapeno in the "What's Cooking" section. You'll find more than a few ideas and recipes. Like my post for Jalapeno Bites and one for Chicken Burgers w/Cheddar, Jalapeno & Cilantro. And there are others from The Pepper King and Shawn, just to mention a couple. Then, let me know what kinds of food you are looking for here or on the What's Cooking page and we'll come up with some fun things, I'm sure! Like, one a made a couple of days back, Border Grill Albondigas - I have their cookbook, but the link shows you the same recipe (Note: I like to use about 1/2 pound more turkey, but keep other items the same...and I usually add a lot more veggies, like turnips, 'cuz Mikey likes them...and I use a bag of Angel Hair Cabbage to make quick work of that part.) I use Jalapenos in place of other peppers too. Especially Serranos, as I like the pepper flavor without being too hot. Lots of recipes for Cowboy Candy, if you are into canning? Or a new favorite around here, BBQ Chicken Bombs - I make the full recipe and then freeze 8 of them. So, what's your thinking?

This garden was started about three weeks ago. Left to right: Burpee Blazing Banana Pepper, AG Shishito Pepper, AG Heirloom Tomato, AG Mighty Mini Tomato. It's pushing it, to try to grow all these in a single Bounty.

The Veranda Reds that share an old Bounty with AG Golden Harvests have finally begun to ripen! The VRs in the back are suspiciously yellow. Cross-pollination, or just a stage in the ripening process? Time will tell!
