Hi Joe, if you can get the cage off, remove it. However I can not seen an issue if it is left intact. I have not transplanted basil but have peppers. One with and one without the cage. They did fi ne. I hope that helps.

This is a video from an AGer where she shows transplanting her Basil plant. Might help with some tips and strategies in getting the cage off.... <img src="//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/bbcode/video-preview.png" video="<iframe width="560" height="315" src=" frameborder="0" allow="accelerometer; autoplay; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture" allowfullscreen></iframe>" alt="Video Preview">

@shawn, I see that you posted the links to these guides last years. I came across them while browsing this herb forum. I found the PDF guide extremely informative. The PDF guide would have been extremely helpful when I first purchased my garden. Thanks for posting this very valuable guide.

Hello there, new user here. I’ve recently reset my aerogarden which was previously (2x thai basils, 1x dill, 1x thyme, 1x mint and 1x genovese basil) i added 6 new more random herbs and maybe some flowers but i need some assistance on how to take proper care for them. I’ve planted as of roughly 3 weeks ago (1x chamomile, 1x lavender, 1x shungiku, 1x mitsuba, 1x savory, and 1x marjoram) everything but the marjoram has sprouted (dud probably) but the shungiku (which took of the quickest) is starting to touch the nearest pods and im worried space might be an issue if i cant prune. Only problem is i dont know when or where to prune the leafs of it

Sounds like a neat product, but I'm not sure how best to proceed. Hopefully, someone else will chime in. In the meantime, I'm thinking that a picture would be most helpful. Can you post a picture? You can find info about posting picture in this thread.
