sorry, having all kind of problems posting a pic... Lookin' good, Rick. I finally decided to dump pics off my phone onto my laptop, then use the "add attachment" button in a post to put the pics in a thread. That way I don't have to use any hosting service at all.

slw , don't worry about buying stuff and then changing your mind about using it as you had intended. AGs are an evolution. I have a bunch of stuff that I'm not using and a bunch of stuff that I'm using in a way I didn't intend when I bought it.
I've also found myself being a bit burned out of late. It's easy to do. Back off to the point where it's comfortable and fits into your life without dominating it. Remember AGs are suppose to be fun not a chore.
I hear ya, SG. I bought my first AG in 2009 and used it sporatically. Since then I have had various models over the years but usually no more than 2 or maybe 3 at a time. When a hobby becomes more work than fun then it's time to back off a little.

The little Sicily is suppose to produce 3 to 4 oz tomatoes and the homeslice 5 to 6 oz. Thanks for the pic posting info.

It makes me grin too as this is how I've always heard it used:
Homeslice:
A very close friend whom you have known for a long time.
"I love my homeslices! We've known each other since pre-k!"

I was thinking more like "whazzzzuuup homeslice!!!" I need to buy some of those seeds so I can say that to my AG.

TODAY... I'm pruning my San Marzano indeterminate... again... and again...
I was warned that it would grow me out of my house. There are two of them in a bounty and they've reached almost 5 feet. They are encroaching on my melon frame. I told them to "stay in their lane!" but they aren't listening. They have lots of flowers and lots of tomatos. Nothing is ripe yet, though.

Haha, I also pruned tomato plants today but they are only about 15" tall. That San Marzano is impressive, SG!
In other news, my fajita pepper in the Kratky jar is doing as well as the other 2 in the Harvest XL. Hmmmm.
I also harvested bok choy for a stir fry for dinner. I'm thinking of ending the bok choy garden and starting fresh. Staying with bok choy, however. I have a large accumulation of AG pods that I need to use so I should stop buying random seeds for a while.

I think I'm suffering from AG Burnout; I seem to have bitten off more than I want to chew with all of them. My enthusiasm is on the wane right now, especially after a power blip yesterday... grrrrrrr.
slw , Today I found a Farm 12XL, still in the shipping box, in the garage. Had totally forgotten that it was there! I'm pretty sure that it's the one I got from Woot! for a ridiculously low price. (There's a thread here, or used to be a thread here, about the sale.) I'm not sorry I bought it, but it may be out of warranty when I finally unbox it! Sometimes I get too many gardens going at once, and I can't give them the attention they need (R&Rs, pruning, etc.). When that happens, I just end the poorest producer, disinfect the garden, and store the garden in a smallish plastic storage tub in a closet. I have three stored Bounties right now, but one may be coming out pretty soon. I'm going to need more space for the slicing tomatoes project!

Haha, I can't believe you have a new-in-the-box Farm, lynnee. Since all of my AGs have their own "spot" on the racks, when one is out of service I just clean it, dry it out, and let it sit (unplugged) in its normal space. Of course I'm an amateur with only 12 gardens!! Attachment Deleted
Today I did a little pruning, topped off water, and then ended the bok choy garden. I cleaned out that Harvest Slim and started a new bok choy garden because we like boy choy and I always have really good success with it.
I ordered some of the Dwarf Awesome tomato seeds from the Etsy seller because I was struck with a sudden case of "FOMO."

For fear of turning this thread into a recipe thread,
How do you prepare your bok choy, slw ? I've never eaten any and would like to grow some.

For fear of turning this thread into a recipe thread,
How do you prepare your bok choy, slw ? I've never eaten any and would like to grow some. I have been known to pull off a leaf and eat it while watering; the stems are very crunchy and the leaves have a mild flavor. Mostly I use it in stirfry, which we are very fond of and have at least once a week. Use in stirfry like any other cabbage /chinese cabbage/spinach; it will cook down significantly so it takes a bunch when cooked.
It could also be steamed and then tossed with butter, salt & pepper, or fried in a bit of olive oil like other fried cabbage.

This pic was taken on Sunday, so all of this was harvested and stirfried yesterday. I usually get two or three nice crops from a single planting of bok choy, and I use the AG seed pods.

Today I did an R&R on two Bounties and a Farm 12XL. I need to post photos, because the Farm has two rambunctious AG cucumbers, and one Bounty has an AG Banana pepper that is short and squat. Usually my Banana peppers grow very tall. This one has huge wide leaves, which is also a bit odd. Maybe the pod has something other than a Banana pepper in it? There are no blooms yet, except for one that developed about 2" above the grow deck that I removed,The plant is probably some kind of pepper, just maybe not a Banana pepper.

I want to see your cukes, lynnee. Seems like my Iznik is getting mottled leaves and so far only 2 decent size cucumbers. It had a lot of tiny ones that were turning yellow so I pruned them off. I have only used AG nutes so I wonder if it needs something added to the mix.
Nothing to report from my gardens today; just some watering. I have a dill plant that needs serious attention but I haven't felt like dealing with it yet.

Are the yellowing, wilting cucumber the first ones that grew? and the ones that are healthy the latest ones?
Parthenocarpic cucumbers do not necessarily become parthenocarpic until they become fairly mature. They induce asexual growth of the ovary through hormone changes rather than pollination and that mechanism doesn't seem to begin immediately. I tried an H-19 little leaf cucumber last year and finally gave up on it. It didn't produce cucumbers until it got quite mature and it was not very productive. Only got a few cukes from it.
You might try assisting it a bit by hand pollinating a few flowers. If nothing else, it will give you practice at hand-pollination for any future needs.
I've always gotten the mottled leaves on my cucumbers. Never figured out why. don't know if it's a cucumber virus. Didn't seem to affect the plant that I could tell.
Also the leaves are yellow on the edges. All hydroponic cucumbers I've ever seen have yellow edges. Don't know why???

Here's a link to a photo that I took earlier today. Mottled leaves are fairly normal on cukes--the leaves always look ratty after a while. My cukes got AG nutes only until yesterday, when I did an R&R, and added AG nutes, CalMag, and Koolbloom. You can remove the yellowed baby cukes, or you can leave them. Once they start to yellow, they will dry up and turn brown. I like to unburden the plant. My Mini Munch cukes produced one or two cukes at a time. If I didn't harvest them at 3-4 inches, they just got bigger and bigger until I removed them. Then they immediately started to develop another cuke or two. They were very intensely focused cukes! I don't know whether this is normal behavior. Cukes are heavy feeders, so don't be afraid to add nutes more often than every two weeks. You get so you can kind of tell by looking at them that they need more nutes or maybe more Calmag.

Today I did the R&R for the rest of my active AGs. That's two Farm 12XLs and two Bounties. Of course I got interrupted, and then added CalMag to the Pepper Garden that was R&Red yesterday. I may also have added CalMag twice to one Tomato Garden. Hope all that CalMag doesn't kill the plants! Here's a photo of the wilderness area of my hobby room (formerly my office) that did NOT get attended to. Maybe tomorrow. Note that the tomato plants that were pruned a few weeks ago have regrown their canopies. The two pepper plants at the left have at least three big green bell peppers and a multitude of shishito peppers!

Actually, the two healthy cukes are kind of in the middle. I'm going to harvest them in a few days and see if that spurs growth in some of the others.
