R&Rs for 5 Bounties today.
Tomorrow is my R&R day. I have 14 AGs to do. I take two days to complete the task.
I do a rather abbreviated R&R because it is so time consuming with the number of AGs I have going. I just syphon out the bowl and fill it with fresh water. I don't lift the deck or inspect or trim the roots. I add fresh nutes and check and adjust the EC and pH.
It takes two days because I'm running my water through an RO filter to get rid of the impurities of tap water and to adjust the pH. The speed of the filter has a lot to do with your household water pressure and mine gets a gallon of clean water every half hour. I only have 8 AG jugs SO... after 7 bounties, I have to stop to make more clean water. I let the second run sit overnight to equalize the temperature to room temp before finishing the R&R so I don't shock the plant.

That is a lot of work, scarfguy ! As you know, R&Rs by siphoning work fine--that's what I did when I had battery-powered siphons. Had to give up on them, because they quit every few months due to defective design. Tomorrow I have to drain 3 Farms. Even though the water is pumped out there is always some left at the bottom of the reservoir, just like when I siphoned. Plants always show their appreciation of the mostly fresh water right away.

That's kinda what I have done except I siphon, add fresh water (allow to circulate), then siphon and fill again.
I figure that gives me single digit percent old water vs double digit.

Today I pruned a Fajita pepper plant pretty severely. It had outgrown the Harvest 360 Elite light and my light extensions from Etsy are on a slow boat, so I decided to top the plant to get it out of the lights. It has 9 marble-size peppers and a bunch of smaller ones so I hope it will do OK.
I also pruned my AG cucumber plants for the first time. I must say, pruning in a Farm is not much fun when it's directly on the floor. I sat on the floor and it was still a pain to work on the plants, so when I do an R&R I might look (again) for an option to raise that Farm up off the floor.
I ordered another knock-off brand hydroponic garden, a LetPot 12 pod system. It's supposed to get here today. It has specs similar to a Harvest XL as far as lights and height extension. This will be the 4th "other brand" machine I have tried; I have previously purchased a MUFGA, a Spider Farmer, and a URUQ system. All of them have performed OK though the Spider Farmer is the only one I'd buy again.
I got another coupon from an Etsy seller that I have purchased accessories from, so I placed an order for covers for my AG seed starter trays. Probably won't use them much but my AG Illness extends to "accessories."

A couple of months ago, I laid my pruners down next to a Farm, then inadvertently rested my kneecap on them as I was getting up. Wow, the pain! I was limping for a couple of hours, and couldn't kneel on that knee for another 10 days. Just another disadvantage of having a Farm resting on the floor!

Another grumble about AG's website. Yesterday I got an email with a 20% off offer; it had a redirect "click here" to the AG website. I added a Bounty to my cart and no discount. The email didn't have a code, just "20% off...Grow On, Friend!".
Well, I guess I'm just an acquaintance because the friend thing didn't work. Didn't need another Bounty anyhow.

I almost caused a catastrophe with my Fajita peppers yesterday. On Sunday I did an R&R on the Harvest XL where they live, but I forgot to reset the nutes schedule. Yesterday I was absent-mindedly adding water and nutes where lights were blinking and added nutes to the Fajita peppers that just had 'em 3 days ago.
Within a couple of hours the leaves began wilting! I was freaking out when I realized what I had done. I took the garden to the kitchen, dumped the reservoir and rinsed all the roots as best I could. Restarted with the correct nutes, trimmed some wilted leaves, and hoped for the best.
Today the plants seem to have recovered. I'm happy about that because those 2 are loaded with peppers. I need to go back to my old method of putting sticky notes on the fronts of my AGs.

I believe I might have successful propagation of my "Phenomenal" Lavender!

Here's my entry in the sunflower category!
The flower has been opening for the last week. It's about fully open I think. You can see the pollen just falling out of it.
Don't try to grow 3 sunflowers in a bounty. 1 is more than enough. There are 3 in here (the last pic shows one of the other two). I've been struggling all along with pruning the huge leaves of the dominant one so that the other two can get some light. Growing one in the middle would be more aesthetic I think.
This is a popular dwarf sunflower variety called "DWARF SUNSPOT"

Absolutely STUNNING, scarfguy! Such a sturdy looking plant, too. Good job.

Love your sunflower, scarfguy! I don't think the flower is fully open (formed?) until you have pollen across its entire face. It's so much fun to watch the concentric rings as they fill in! My Sue is long gone. We had a stretch of high winds that seem to have damaged the stalk so that the flower bent down and the developing seeds lost their water supply.

Today I moved the two Veranda Red seedlings from the Bounty they were sharing with Merlot lettuce to the Farm 12XL vacated by the unproductive slicing tomatoes. Unfortunately I broke a branch off the righthand plant, so it isn't as attractive as it was. The seedlings are at 23 days.

Not much going on; we have had a very busy week so I mostly topped off water and nutes and left the AGs to fend for themselves. We had out-of-town company for a couple of days and my cousin's husband was positively enthralled by my Aerogardens. He studied each one closely, asked hundreds of questions, and wrote down the AG website info. I think we have a convert!!
Today I started a FairyTale eggplant from seeds (not AG pods) so I'm curious to see how this goes.

Today I harvested banana peppers; this is about 1 3/4 pounds. They made one quart and one pint jars of pickled peppers!

How many plants do you have that you got so many peppers at once? I was thrilled to have 2 Mega Cherry tomatoes ripen!

How many plants do you have that you got so many peppers at once? I was thrilled to have 2 Mega Cherry tomatoes ripen! I have 2 plants in a Bounty, 2 in a Harvest Elite, and 1 in a Kratky jar. The plants were loaded with peppers and still have some smaller ones that I left to grow. These were AG banana pepper pods. The Kratky jar was a little "cull" that I got from thinning the seedlings. I'm very pleased with those AG pods!
I should have put one on a ruler; they were larger than they appear in that picture. Most were 6" - 7" or so. I also have some loaded Fajita pepper plants that I'll harvest soon.

I never cease to be amazed at my plants.
The lovely Gerbera daisy has now been blooming for over a month.
The flowers are large and the foliage is bright, dark green and healthy BUT...
If you look into the bowl there are hardly any roots??? and there are 4 plants in there.
It must be getting all of the nutrients it needs with few roots.

Today I picked a bowlful of cherry tomatoes; those are just about played out in the Spider Farmer garden. I also harvested bok choy and some tatsoi to use in a stirfry for dinner. I spied some blooms about to open on the dwarf awesome plants... woohoo!!
