Today I cleaned out my Farm, discarded the two AG cuke vines. They still had lots of tiny cukes but I didn't care for the texture of them and the vines were looking a little ratty. I'm going to start two of the pickling cukes in the Farm and see how that works out.
I made the tactical error of cleaning and refilling the Farm water tank, then carrying it back to the dining room to place in the stand. O. M. G. I was "seconds from disaster" with each step, and got a scary slosh when it seated in the stand. WHEW!!!! I won't be doing that again.
I had drained the tank using the tubing and water pump but for some reason I just filled it when clean, forgetting how far I had to carry it.

R&R TODAY!... actually with 11 bounties, it's R&R weekend!
I don't remember if I showed you folks this little powered siphon (senility is setting in) BUT:
Since my melon AGs are so low to the ground, a manual bulb siphon doesn't work very well. I went on a quest about 6 months ago to find a quality power siphon. Most of the little battery powered ones don't fit in the AG watering ports. I tried a couple of AC powered ones. They were too, too powerful and sucked the roots off of the plants!
My last attempt was this little teeny, tiny pump siphon for an aquarium. I thought surely this can't work very well. It's cheap, it can't last very long.
WELL, WELL, it works like a charm! not real fast but you can hang it up and let it siphon without supervision. It takes only about 8-10 minutes to empty a bounty. It's been running for 6 months or so without any issues. I highly recommend it:
Oh my! I don't think I could handle doing R&R on that many gardens all at once! Your siphon looks nice! I got a little manual one that I'm loving, but my gardens are all on counters or tables, so not low down, and my spine is thankful for that!

I did the first R&R on my Bounty, two days early. I haven't made a thread for the Bounty Heirloom salad kit in my garden, because I wasn't sure if it was going to survive or not. After finding the high PH in the Tatsoi garden, I eventually got around to checking the Bounty, as the little sprouts were looking burnt and pitiful. The photos are from two days ago, but I saw the problem happening a couple days earlier than that. It had a PH of 8.0 and ZERO tap water had been added! Just the AG nutes, in the starting amount. Clearly, they hadn't buffered PH much, if any! But I was busy and didn't feel motivated to do anything about it. I was tempted to pull the plug because the plants had had such a rocky start. However, being completely neglected, the little lettuces, surprisingly, are still growing. Today, I decided to see if the garden can be saved, so I needed to do something about the PH level PRONTO. Hence the early R&R. I opted to give the garden some MaxiGro, at half-strength. So now the PH is 6.0 and in range and we'll see what happens.

tdse , how do the Totem megacherry tomatoes taste? The megacherries from a few years back didn't taste any better than retail pale red tomatoes. About that non-performing Isnik: have you checked to make sure that the Vine isn't secretly developing a giant cuke? Whenever my cukes go dormant, I almost always find a giant hidden behind leaves, a trellis, or a support post. The cuke may even be growing horizontally! If you don't have a big cuke to harvest, then try upping the nutes a little. Cukes are heavy feeders. They also like clean water, judging from the way mine grow right after an R&R. Your photos are great! For the AG mega cherry tomatoes, they're one of the better AG tomatoes I've tried. I agree, the ones in the past were tasteless. I had better luck with the heirloom cherry's - but these are pretty good. Meaning - IMO, no hydroponic tomato compares in taste to soil grown, but they are a better option than retail winter tomatoes. Last week, I sliced a bunch and used them in BLT's - they were pretty tasty. Searched the cukes last night for a rogue giant - nothing. Seems that none of them are maturing at all. I know I had bought Iznik seeds from a vendor (Seeds N Such, I think), but I also bought some through Amazon. Now I am trying to remember which I planted. I'm starting to wonder if I used the Amazon seeds, and they're really not Izniks after all (sigh).

I am still awaiting my 2 non-AG 15 pod units to arrive but got my Snow Pea & Brussel Sprout seeds today and planted them in my Farm 12XL in Root Riot cubes. The 2 non-AGs will be here Wed and I will transfer them. I also got my ph meter today and my Ph is 7, I ordered an up/down kit today and it will also be here Wed.

Did you purchase that RGBING unit from Amazon? I see it’s $40 today and when I pulled it up there’s a 15% off coupon. Tempting for $34 but I was so disappointed in my Idoo system I am hesitant.

I'm slowly getting all the active gardens R&R done. Yesterday I terminated 2 Harvest XLs with banana peppers in one and fajita peppers in the other. Frankly, I'm sick of banana peppers and won't ever plant that many at one time again. So those plants were cut up and tossed on the mulch pile. The AGs were surprisingly clean considering how long the pepper plants were growing in them.
Today I'm going to terminate my Tatsoi garden, clean the Harvest Elite Slim, and replant Tatsoi. I love having bok choy and Tatsoi available and they are so easy to grow.
I have started new plantings of Red Robin cherry tomatoes (my personal favorite), bell pepper, poblano pepper, veranda red tomatoes, romaine lettuce, and some herbs (dill, sage, parsley).
A couple of progress pics...
Fairy Tale Eggplant at 47 days; no blooms yet.
And National Pickling cucumber at 25 days. Several tiny cukes but no blooms yet. I also started two of these in my Farm but they are just barely clearing the labels so far.

Thanks lynnee! I had the gnome and his sign on the deck of the Bounty, but the plant grew too big and forced them off. His sign says "Don't Piss Off the Fairies."

Today I planted a new lettuce garden, using Baker Creek "Merlot" and "Rocky Top Blend". Yesterday and this morning I finally got my seed packets sorted and stored in a photograph storage case. It's the one that Shawn recomended. It holds a lot of seeds! www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0948Y6LX5/

TODAY!...
I found this website:
while I was looking for green bean information.
She has a lot of great information on a variety of topics we have been discussing lately. Her info on TATSOI might be relevant to a recent thread.
Very professionally done! Easy to understand. Clear audio and high quality images.
Her video on aphids is outstanding (She sure was diligent about trying to save her plants)
I have no idea how old this is. Based on her gardens it must be fairly recent.
Well worth a look!
