pfunnyjoy , I was going to say the same thing as scarfguy : go back to AG nutes, and do R&Rs every two weeks. Something else you might do, is try misting your dried-out-looking leaves and seedlings. I have two Bounties in a spot that gets a draft from a window, and sometimes the leaves on the plants in them get very, very dry and crisp. I just started misting the plants, and the leaves seem to be responding. I guess I'll need to get a mister. I had one, back when, but I played with using it to foliar feed, and um, that killed the pump. I haven't entirely given up on the dandelions, because the two Japanese seedlings still look healthy. And I germinated 2 Italian dandelions in a Ziploc and put them in a pod today using a new grow sponge, since the old had a spot of algae. I still have seeds in the baggie, so I might just get rid of the problem seedlings if my other seeds germinate. But the other two gardens are just depressing me so, I may terminate and start over.

I hadn't thought about the black covers getting hot, though I have them on the Classic 7 Tatsoi garden, which, other than a bit of yellow rim to the leaves, looks good and is growing nicely. However, the light on that old garden is NOT as strong as the newer gardens. OTOH, I read the reviews on these covers, and no one was having troubles with them. I occasionally use the black covers and I've never had any problem with them; they work very well.
Are you in an area where it is cold and the heat is on?

The heat is on, it's not terribly cold. 52F out. Lots of humidity since it rained last night. Thermostat is around 66F at present, though I might raise it to 68 in a bit. The two worst gardens are not in the warmest room though, they are in an open kitchen/living room/dining/hallway area.

I bought it for use with microgreens. The continuous spray and upside down features are particularly useful. www.amazon.com/Hula-Home-Continuous-Plastic-Sprayer/dp/B0948WBX9L/pfunnyjoy

YES, that style mister is really good. I bought a few of them under a variety of names but they are all the same design. They really make a nice fine mist.

Many thanks, y'all! I need to get some other stuff on Amazon, so I'll order the mister too. Though at the moment, house humidity is really high because of rain yesterday! And temps outside are in the 60s!
I'm going to be busy with gardens today, I suspect. The lettuce Bounty is due for R&R and nutrients, so I want to harvest (not much new growth), then get that done.
And I am terminating the two Harvest Slims and starting over.

I've been doing the minimum this week. I have a sinus infection and I've been miserable; stayed in bed yesterday and most of today. Even my hair hurts.
So I've been keeping water levels up and adding nutes if any lights are flashing, but that's it. I'm anxious to set up a couple of new gardens; the Ahopegarden with the see-through water tank and the new/old Classic 7.

Black thumb or no black thumb, apparently I'm a sucker for punishment!
I couldn't stand it and got a Harvest Elite 360 during the sale, because there was a spot in my office too small for anything else that it could fit in.
I opted for the Heirloom Cherry Tomato kit, as believe it or not, have NEVER grown those! Just the Mega Cherry Tomatoes in the old tall gardens. So last night, I fired 'er up with a single tomato pod in the center of the unit. Just water (PH adjusted) in the bowl for now, I'll add nutrition when I see a sprout. I didn't actually check the PH last night, as I was tired, but I did this morning and it is 6.5, which should be good enough for now.
I do like the watering port on the 360 better than on the Harvest Slims, as I can fit the EC meter in easily.
One thing that only occurred to me later, I might need to switch the other gardens in the room to "vegetables," to prevent light when the tomato needs dark. But I don't think I have to until after germination, maybe not even until the plant starts to develop flower buds. I doubt it will hurt the salad gardens to get a tiny bit less light.

pfunnyjoy, the light isn't all that important--I think there is only 30 minutes difference between tomato/pepper and most other things. I've grown the Red Heirloom tomatoes many times in the same room with other garden types (flowers, lettuce), and all the plants do well. For greater production and improved taste, add CalMag and Koolbloom to your AG nutes.

I figured the light probably wasn't critical mass. I do need to figure out when the other gardens come on, as I can't remember. I really like the screen and the ability to go look at that on the Harvest Elite series! Worth the extra money!

The Bounty with the Heirloom salad greens got harvested tonight. The garden is kind of pitiful looking right now, but the harvest was nice and I got a large salad out of it, which I topped with onion, green bell pepper, cherry tomatoes, smoked salmon, and avocado. Dressed with olive oil and balsamic vinegar. That's in a pasta bowl, so it's quite a bit of lettuce! You can see that there are lots of leaves with crispy edges or blotches. And I had a fair pile of discards like that as well, fortunately not as large as the salad pile. However, the garden got it's R&R and new dose of AG nutrients, so while it is puny now, it won't be long until it isn't anymore.

Finally harvesting some Dwarf Awesome tomatoes. These have been a struggle for me so I won't be planting them (in AGs) again. I might try them outside this spring, though. Two almost ready...
And a couple are being consumed today...

My guess is that you did pictures wrong but I'm not sure. We all try the obvious solution for adding images but the administrator, Shawn , does not want us to do it that way cause it eats up our allocated space appearently.
The desired method is to use an external storage site and point to the image there.
There is a "sticky" post somewhere that explains it all.
When Shawn sees this, she will point you to the proper resources.
HMMM... I just clicked on your red text and it pointed to an image on something called staticflickr. SOOO... maybe you are doing it right.
As for size, it might be staticflickr, I use imgur and my images are always too big and are reduced.

Thanks, scarfguy. I think I got it. I did upload the pics to flicker, but it has been so long since I worked with BBCode that I had to shake loose some brain cobwebs. And now, I believe I shall go make a Margherita pizza to use up some of that basil. Thanks again.
