The one I had in my Amazon cart was exactly the same one scarfguy and tdse reported on --
It looks like it needs either a battery with a USB output, or one of those USB power plug-in thingees (That's a technical term), so the battery is not part of the unit.
And you have to make one cut in that tubing.
I say 'had in my Amazon cart' because it is there no more. I pushed the button. It will be here in time for Christmas.
Am I correct in assuming that we do not use the filter because we want the dregs out? And it doesn't look like it will fit through the opening anyway.

I use it with a battery pack like the one on the product page, but I think you can plug it into a standard electrical outlet if you use a USB adaptor. The filter basket thingie fits easily through a pod hole. The pump gets as much sediment out as any other siphon that you use. The only way to remove the sediment during an R&R is to (1) pick up the entire plant with the grow deck, and (2) dump and rinse the entire reservoir. It comes with a single length of plastic tubing attached to the basket, that you cut once into two pieces with ordinary scissors. I cut mine in half, which is fine, but if I were to do it over again I would cut it into 1/3 for the intake basket piece and 2/3 for the outlet piece. You want to use the basket thingie, because that is important for the speedy intake. When most of the water has been pumped out, wiggling the basket around will pump out even more water.

I do not use the little basket thingy. I try to get the end of the tubing as close to the bottom of the bowl as possible. I take a little stick and push the roots around so that I make a little "hole" through the root mass to pass the tube of the pump through. Sometimes trying to get it to the bottom beside the pump housing usually works pretty well.

I like it, because the weight makes it easy to place in the lowest part of the reservoir by wiggling the tube. There's usually room to clear the roots because I usually have one or two plants in a Bounty. The tubing supplied is very long, so you can cut it into 3 pieces to retain the basket option.

Those eggplants are SO cool! Makes me want to plant some, even though I don't like them to eat, lol. I can't wait to see how your broccolini does.

Just did a rinse and refill on my Italian Dandelions. They are still growing, but the seedlings continued to look quite unhappy after switching to AG nutrients. So I'm switching them to the GH Flora series and now it's wait and see if they improve. I counted to myself while using the Fermtech Auto-Siphon Mini manual siphon, and it took about 45 seconds give or take to empty the Aerogarden 6E+. So maybe a minute for a Bounty with a larger tank? I'll find out when I do the Bounty lettuce garden. One full pump with this thing and you are in business. So it's not tough on the hands. It came with some kind of clip, but I don't use it.

Update 12/21/23, Lettuce Garden I -- Harvested three lettuces today. Pulled the entire plants. This is their third or fourth harvest, and they were getting too tall compared to the other little guys in that Harvest. That big boy on the right is Rouge d'Hiver. It grew well, so I may look for some seeds. The others are Red Sails and Black-Seeded Simpson. All from the Heirloom Salad Collection by AG. In their place, I put three AG Romaine lettuces. Trying to get everyone closer to the same height. Finally, the scallions need a haircut, so it looks like tossed salad and scrambled eggs with scallions for breakfast tomorrow. (Some people call them green onions, but really, they're scallions.) I really need to do more of these because I do love me some scallions. I want to see how long these will go if I just snip the tops.

I started soaking a Farm Garden tonight. This will be some sort of pepper. Poblano, Hot Cherry or Jalapeno. Maybe even Firecracker. I'll make up my mind tomorrow.

I thinned the broccolini and harvested my first Fairy Tale Eggplants. I'm going to cook them for dinner but I haven't decided exactly how yet... either roasting with a bit of olive oil or maybe sauteed in butter.

Wow, this last garden is being stubborn. I soaked it from last night and still it didn't get the stubborn spots. I changed the soak water and added some sanitizer I've been trying out. We'll see tomorrow.
Has anyone grown firecracker peppers? What do you think of them? They look like a Thai pepper. They go through more color changes, though.

Let us know how they taste! I love the look of these plants! They were pretty good, pfunnyjoy. I decided to slice them, spritz with olive oil, and roast. I didn't peel them or anything, just trimmed the ends and sliced. They cooked pretty fast in a hot convection oven and tasted kind of like a summer squash. Very mild and the skin is very thin and tender when cooked. They cooked down quite a bit. I also ate a small one raw (cut off plant by accident), it was OK but I wouldn't drive across town to get one.

First, gotta figure out my greens though.

Dang it! Another dead pump! I hate it when I miss something simple. The power cable from the AG to the distribution block in back wasn't fully seated. It works fine.
