Good heavens. I'm usually still up at 2 a.m.
I haven't seen 2 a.m. for years!

Thanks, slw . I am hoping they will be tidier. I did gain some shelf space. And scarfguy , you are right. You can spend as much as you want to on those wire shelves. There Amazon ones are only rated at a quarter of the 800 lb. per shelf capacity of that 5-tier you linked to. (Actually less, because I got the ones with wheels.) So I wouldn't want to set them up in the garage and store 75 lb. bags of river rock on them, but for a couple of gardens per shelf, they are fine. The heaviest things on those shelves are the two big cast-iron dutch ovens on the bottom shelf (And several 12-packs of soda and some bags of flour.) I do need a step stool to water the top row.

I do need a step stool to water the top row. I have the same problem with the AG bamboo shelf unit; the top shelf is too high for my vertically-challenged self. Plus it's narrow (depth) so will only hold a Harvest or Harvest Slim. If I had known that I was going to go off the deep end with Aerogardens I'd have planned my setup a little better; everything is kind of haphazard as far as design element. Plus the never ending "am I going to burn the house down if I plug in one more garden?" thing.

Count me in as a member of the step-stool crowd!
I don't know who they designed the bamboo rack for!

I guess they designed it for me; I have 4 of them.

Random garden updates. First, another AG cucumber just beginning to set blooms and with a ton of baby cukes under those leaves...
Next an AG bell pepper beginning to ripen to RED...
Still waiting on the broccolini to set some heads but nuthin'. This is day 68.
Spinach Day 40. I have harvested twice from these so far; no sign of bolting yet.
And the AG Mega cherry tomatoes, Day 176. I have almost terminated this garden a couple of times, but it keeps setting more blooms! I have gotten tons of really nice little tomatoes from this one.

Every garden looking gorgeous, Sarah! All I've got for the moment is my experiment with Micro-Mat mini on the left and silicone reusable dehydrator sheet on the right: The silicone seems slightly behind the Micro-Mat on day 3, but looks more even; no telling which will work best...

I spent entirely too much time resetting garden clocks today since we had several power "blips." I received my stuff from the President's Day sale and assembled the bamboo shelf unit. That is my 4th one so I can get those suckers put together in record time. We have constant blips too. I bought a small UPS for the AG's and it's worked well for me. You'll have to buy a few outlet saver extension cords due to the huge power plugs AG puts on their units though. It has been becoming obvious that my low-bid, screw-together, MDF board shelves with genuine wood-grain paper surface weren't going to hold up under the water that I was inevitably going to spill on them. So when I saw CatHerder 's response in the kitties discussion, I looked at her metal shelves and I said "By, god, I need to get me some of those." CatHerder's Kitty Resistant ShelvesAnd so I did. These -- Amazon Basics 4-Shelf Adjustable, Heavy Duty Storage Shelving Unit on 4'' Wheel Casters, Metal Organizer Wire Rack, Black, 36" L x 14" W x 57.75" HTwo of them, and by serendipitous coincidence, they were exactly the same ones in her post. So I spent yesterday evening putting them together, and today I pulled out the MDF screw-togethers and installed the new metal racks. Ta-da! -- Left rack -- 2 Harvest Elite Slims with Merlot leaf lettuce and AG mystery greens, and on top two Harvests. The one plant you can see is a test run of New Zealand spinach. There are also a couple of basil starts. The right Harvest is empty for now. Right rack -- Cilantro on top, and some unidentified cos on the bottom. Some of it might be Parris Island, and some of it might not. I harvested some of that lettuce, too. I got a gallon Ziploc of lettuce. It went from this -- To this -- I'll harvest the rest of it before the end of the weed. I have another Harvest Elite Slim coming, and I will plant two more lettuce gardens, which should keep me in tossed salad and scrambled eggs for breakfast and Caesar or Chef salads or the occasional shrimp louie for dinner on a rotating basis. In other news, I am having to eat some word salad because even though I swore never again, I ordered something from Aerogarden. I wanted a regular, non-Elite Harvest Slim, and Amazon didn't have them. AG did, and if I bought one, I could get a Sprout for 25 bucks. So . . . We shall see how long it takes it to get here. (Their fulfillment center is in Mexico, MO, about three hours from my house, so I am figuring a week for them to get it into UPS's hands, then another week while it goes for a ride around the Midwest, maybe take in Chicago on Kansas City on the way. So what will it be? Middle of March?) Nice set up! I love how organized yours looks with all the 'lunch' trays! I'm going to have to do that as I was trying to move a Harvest XL and couldn't, so I moved the shelf unit, then that led to a tumbling of the UPS, which then knocked over something else, and so on.... So before I add my new Bounty (whenever it arrives), I'm ordering some of those bad boys. I ordered a new kitty-block item as one of the cats learned he could lean on the cooling rack to move it aside. I will share a pic when it gets here on Friday. Cat + basil leaf = green vomit that stains wool carpets

Hmmmm, aren't you in the Houston area, too? Must be a Centerpoint thing!! Seems like Centerpoint and Comcast take turns with outages lately.
Thanks for the tip. Those outlet savers look really interesting.

CatHerder -- did you buy the polarized or non-polarized in those outlet saver things? (I don't know anything about electrical stuff.)

Yes, I am. It's definitely Centerpoint. Whenever it rains it goes bonkers. Luckily we have AT&T fiber in our neighborhood, so that doesn't go out like Comcast used to (daily).

Cat + AG must be a real challenge, for anyone. Sorry that happened. I should have never put the first barrier up. None of them were really noticing it. I think they ignore stuff, and don't mess with it, until they are specifically prevented from messing with it. Then, it's a challenge that must be overcome.

Clovis Sangrail, you make me extremely envious of your beautiful setup with the metal shelves! Now I'm kind of ashamed of mine, which is basically a "stick 'em where they'll fit" design. Maybe I can set up shelves once I get the excess junk in this place disposed of.

Today I decided to trim some leaves off the broccolini, and this happened...
Not only that, but I found several of them hiding in there!!
