I'm not sure what mealy is in a tomato, but they were quite firm and meaty.

I know exactly what Mary means when she describes it as 'mealy'. Pulpy, dry, rough texture, not juicy and succulent.More on the side os an old apple or pear that ran out of juice long ago. I find a lot of Roma tomatoes leaning toward that side...good for well stewed sauces is about it for me..

That’s exactly it. You nailed it, Corinne.

I’ve placed the strongest 3 of the 4 back in the Mighty Mini garden. It’s only been, what, maybe 3 days and I think they all already look bigger

The garden looks well balanced! It will be interesting to see which direction(s) the little ones grow.

I might have to give the little ones their own garden. They’re at risk of getting smothered by the bigger ones.

In one of your threads you had a Sprout Starter...I had no idea they made the holed deck for starting in the Sprout. Perfect for potted flower projects to get a head start!

I actually have a Seed Starter for the Sprout AND a large machine. I will never use them. If anyone is interested, send me a PM.

I would take you up on it, but I don;t plant sponges that much because inside the house they tend to rise up over time inside the soil and peek up out of the pot no matter how deep I plant them. Outside..well, the critters think they are unique ready made holes and just pull up my plants and put their nuts and pieces of bread in them to hide . I do plant a few, but not many because they DO start faster than with soil starting.

I am really excited to use the Sprout starter because, while I love the big starter for the big machine for big Spring planning outdoor projects, I need something way smaller to do my indoor stuff year round. It should be (I hope) perfect for what I need. I haven’t tried it yet because I’m waiting on my new Sprout for it. You all will be, of course, the first to know.

These have gotten bigger in just 2 days, I had to raise the hood again already.

These kind of look like they’ve shrunk, maybe under their own weight. But, I do have a bunch of flowers now!. I meant to try to take the Bee the Bee to them this afternoon, but I got too tired.

The stems looked longer when there was less foliage to fill in the space around them. That might be part of it. They look robust to me!
