These got so dense I had to give them a major chopping. I wish I had taken a before photo for you.

Wow that project looks fantastic, Mary! Did you have to lose a considerable amount of buds and fruit in the chop?

Wow that project looks fantastic, Mary! Did you have to lose a considerable amount of buds and fruit in the chop? While I wouldn’t say considerable, I definitely did toss a fair amount of buds, but with how many fruit are already growing it didn’t bother me because there would’ve been absolutely no room for them to grow anyway. There are so many fruit already I don’t think the plants could sustain them all (or rather, the small basin of water and nutes probably couldn’t have supported them all). And it was so dense that when I went in to cut one stem with needle nose scissors I’d snap a neighbor! It was even hard to extract what I had cut, it was such a tangle. I know I shouldn’t have planted in each pod, but I was so tickled at cloning them, I just had to.

Another one to follow! It will be interesting to see how they do in the smaller machines.

I had to cut more foliage out because some of it, alarmingly, was turning brown. I hope it’s not sick. In any event I have more ripening going on.

I think of it as making more room for the lights to ripen all those other tomatoes.

Great abundance of toms. What did you think of the taste, Mary? And would you plant these again and why?

Haven’t tried it yet! I think it needs just a little bit more time.

Oven roasted the last batch and made salsa out of them. (I augmented them with some tasteless store bought tomatoes). Also used my AG cilantro and chives!

That looks wonderful. I never thought to roast tomatoes before making salsa.

I only roast them if they are bland or too tart, to concentrate the sugars. These were a bit tart so I roasted them to take the edge off.

I got one more harvest from the plants before terminating, which I didn’t expect! This time I roasted the onions along side the tomatoes in the oven, which is why its overall browner. Then I added a tomatillo and my AG cilantro and chives. So a 3 ingredient AG garden dish. Super yum.

You know, mine were so bland I thought they tasted like paste. But that was on a Classic CFL 7. I haven't bought them since.
