Okay, my lettuce ran its full course over 121 days. After becoming increasingly bitter after every harvest, it finally sputtered out. Interestingly my Chinese cabbage and bok choy planted the same day as the lettuce is still going strong. The cabbage also doesn’t degrade in taste when it regrows. I have a wide variety of grow pods on the way including herbs, so I need to figure out what I will be planting in the 12 now empty lettuce spots. Harvested more tomatoes and peppers today as well. The tomatoes are the ones that came with the farm unit and were planted 221 days ago, slightly more then 7 months and are showing no sign of slowing down. I planted all 12 pods per their instructions and it is looking like that was definitely the way to go. Two of the tomato plants died from being outgrown by their compatriots, but knowing what I do now, I could have saved them with some thoughtful pruning. Also had to prune back some of the tomatoes today as they were crowding out my back right pepper plant. Overall, loving my farms!

Do you cook the cabbage and greens or make salad? What a fun assortment! You are having a blast!

We do both Cornne. Imy only likes her greens raw while I sometimes use the cabbage in cooked dishes. Now that I know you can harvest the cabbage as many times as you like without it going bitter, I prefer it over the lettuces varieties for long term viability.

Tomatoes reached a point the magnetic cables couldn’t support them anymore, they are so heavy with fruit. Instead of dramatically pruning back, I replace some of the magnetic cable with straight up cordage and all is well again. I want to see just how far the stock original salad garden tomatoes can go in the Farm XL. 9.5 months so far with no sign of failing with constant production. Sweet green peppers are thriving as well!

My lettuce ran its full course and I planted new ones. The cabbage is still going strong and it still isn’t turning bitter after every regrowth. The peppers are healthy and the tomatoes are only a little over a month away from their one year planting. They are actually going through a growth spurt right now and my production continues to rise. They should be dead by now from everything I have read. Lol
