I planted three pods of Bhutlah Scorpion Peppers on the right side of the new Farm XL tonight. It is rated at 1,500,000 SHU.

The wrinkly texture is interesting.

The Carolina Reaper is rated over 2,200,000 SHU, the original Trinidad Scorpion is rated between 1,000,000 and 1,400,000. This pepper is rated at 1,500,000 SHU. The Ghost pepper is just over 1,000,000. I had a wing with Reaper sauce on it once. It was the hottest thing I have ever eaten. It was mind blowing.
Ed Currie created the Carolina Reaper. He has since created the Pepper X. It was rated at 3,180,000 SHU. He has a hotter pepper than that currently being evaluated.

They say they are reaper hot. I will only use them for sauce.

Two of these are coming in pretty well. I'm getting a number of pepper plants that have the seed shell preventing the leaves from opening up. This bugs me. I've tried to gently pull it away, but I don't have much dexterity with my fingertips due to the diabetes. Does anyone have any ideas here? The 3rd pod is showing some life, now. I'm only growing two larger pepper plants per side. So, I may end up moving the 3rd pod over to the Yellow 7-Pot Primo side as that side only has 1 germination so far in 18 days. Either way, I'm waiting at least another week to make up my mind.

Mike, what I do when the seed sticks the top two leaves together is snip right below the seed, cutting the very tip of the leaves off. It doesnt hurt them and doesn't look unsightly.

What I've done in the past is place the humidity dome back on (where height allows) which will make the helmet fall off in a day or so, or I'll take my dropper and try to balance some water on top of the helmet so that it soaks into it, allowing the plant to remove it naturally.

Thanks for the suggestions. There's not enough leaf exposed to cut it. So I took a pipette and put a few drops of water on them and put the dome back over them.
I really hope that works.
Again, thanks.

Well, I had 4 sprouts with seed casings literally preventing the leaves from exiting. I put drops of water on them and put the dome over them. This morning, was able to work the casing off using my thumb and forefinger to gently work it off on one of them. After work I was able to do the same with another one. I added water to the other two and will try those again tomorrow. Thanks for the advise. This looks like a workable solution.

Glad to help! If you catch it early enough, the plant will lose the shell naturally as the leaves begin to grow.
