Bought a new Bounty and put some tomatoes in it!! Used pre-seeded AG pods, 1 red and 1 golden. Also started a Pot-a-Peno in here from Park's Seeds! My dad gave me these to try out, and when it gets big enough I'm gonna move it to a hanging basket.  |

maskedsonnet , do you think three plants in the bounty is going to be too crowded? I guess it depends on the variety that you are growing. I see the three varieties listed in your posting, so are you planning on keeping two and only moving the Pot-a-Peno? I am guessing you live somewhere warm because a hanging basket in Chicago would not last long.

I think it would get too crowded if I left all three plants in there. The two tomato plants will probably take up all the space (though I admit it’s been a long time I’ve grown AG tomatoes and don’t really remember how big they get). While I do live in NM where it’s nice and warm I’m actually planning to hang the pot-a-peno basket in the window of the same room I’ve got the AGs in, with a grow light to supplement the very limited sunshine I get in that window. My goal is to grow most of my own produce indoors because of how unbelievably hot it gets here in the summer, to cut down on how much water I’m having to use to keep a garden alive in that heat.  Depending on how successful I am this year/into next year I might rip the entire back yard out, cap off the sprinkler system, and have native grasses/wildflowers planted back there that I don’t have to water to keep alive. |

It sounds like you have planned this out! I wish you luck growing indoors. I worry about the challenges of growing indoors, specifically getting enough light and bugs. Keep up posted with your tomato updates!

Yeah, all my indoor plants have grow lights on them because my house doesn't get much natural lighting sadly. I've had to battle bugs a couple times, but so far I've been able to get rid of them with minimal losses. I look forward to seeing how this goes and sharing what happens! |

This was too good not to share: A second reason that I want to take my gardening indoors. The video was shot in Lubbock, about 200 miles east of where I am. We experienced the same weather shown here, and it's somewhat regular. Even with a good cinderblock fence around the back yard, storms like this tear the hell out of a garden as well as drying it out. And since I work for the railroad, 6 hours of my shift was spent sitting in a car next to the tracks, taking wind readings so I could tell the dispatcher when it was safe to run trains again. I clocked a lot of time on my phone today lol. Confirmed wind speeds up to 80 mph at one point.

maskedsonnet, now I can certainly see why you want to grow your gardens indoors. Gardening outdoors has it's challenges wherever you live. I never even imagined the impact of dust storms! Just crazy!

These are all coming along really nicely!! I had two plants come up in the pot-a-peno, and later tonight I'm going to follow this guide that Sher put out to move one to its own pod, they both look so nice and healthy I hate to just snip one out. I'll find the space for two plants.  |

They're both alive and well!! The tomatoes are doing good too I'm thinking maybe a few more weeks and the jalapenos will be ready to move to their new homes.  |

These are getting bigger! Extra happy about that because of the failure of the container tomato experiment, I love tomatoes and look forward to home-grown after a winter of store-bought!  |

Doing well.
Oh seeing your trellis, Know that is you plan on turning your plants the trellis makes it a bit hard. At least I found that I would loose leaves and or crop trying to do so.
