Sanitized the other Harvest Elite Slim, preparing for a second try, which will be cilantro only.
Also sanitized a great big pile of grow domes from various gardens, so I can put them away. Yeah, probably not necessary, but I've always done it, and I figure it doesn't take long, and doesn't hurt.
About to crack and start the pre-soak on more cilantro seeds. And I need to refill my downstairs watering jug!

New Harvest Elite Slim arrived today. Set it up. Harvested and moved in 3 lettuces that were not getting enough light where they were. Planted some Parris Island, Deer Tongue and Rouge d'Hiver. Harvested some mint and basil and moved the mint to the front to get better light. Made this with the mint -- It was a good day.

Clovis Sangrail -- Yes, those are "Fairy Tale" eggplants. They are fun to grow. "Fairy Tale" -- I couldn't think of it. I have one, but I'm not having fun with it yet. 14 days and no sprout. I bought some of AE's tall plants -- Fairy Tale eggplant, poblano pepper, sweet banana pepper, and Anaheim pepper. After two weeks, I have teeny, tiny little sprouts on the poblano and the Anaheim, but nothing visible on the eggplant and the sweet banana. I hope when my eggplants do sprout (thinking positively), they look as good as yours.

TODAY...
I learned NOT to try and disinfect your aerogarden and remove the calcium deposits at the same time.
Mixing Clorox and citric acid creates chlorine gas which killed thousands in WWI.
I have a fan airing out the basement at the moment.

I have a fan airing out the basement at the moment. Glad you're OK. That can be some potent stuff. During my salad days, I did a stint in the exciting and fast-paced food and beverage industry, where there are copious amounts of industrial strength cleaners that can be mixed with similar results, which they were with frightening frequency. Best case -- It stinks the kitchen up for a while. Worst case -- Half the kitchen staff sitting out back taking hits from ambulance oxygen, and an entire restaurant evacuated. Nasty, nasty stuff.

The first time I tried one it was in a Harvest (doh) and I had to move it outside to a raised bed. It's a challenge to find all the blooms to "be the bee" with the large foliage.
I just started some poblanos, too. They are just now showing signs of germinating. I had outstanding results with the AG banana peppers; my plants are nearly 6 months old and still producing.

It's a dark, dreary, drizzly day in the Pacific Northwest, rural eastern OR ... but it's happy sunshine under the new AG Elite 360's hood. My first ever Heirloom Cherry Tomato sprout!
I've added a light dose of nutrients and will check on PH after a bit. I'm real paranoid about burning seedlings now, so if I have to rinse and refill a week from now, or even sooner, that's OK by me.
Meanwhile, I also got the pre-soaked cilantro seeds into their damp paper towel/Ziploc baggie.

The Fairy Tale eggplants require patience, but if you don't have sprouts after a month, you should ask AG for a replacement kit. They are easy to grow, but you have to use an electric toothbrush or a paintbrush to hand-pollinate them.

I'm getting antsy to terminate my remaining Dwarf Awesome tomato plant. It has one good-size green tomato that I can't decide if I want to bother waiting on.
I have harvested 3 pickling cukes. That plant is blooming like crazy but it is difficult keeping up with the male/female pollination thing so I won't do these indoors again. They are very tasty little cucumbers, though. Not nearly as watery as the thin-skinned varieties.
I ordered a small dehydrator from Amazon. I have a lot of sage, dill and parsley that I am planning to dry and store in spice jars.
I'm also going to terminate my green onion garden in the Sprout. The pump has become quite noisy and I'm thinking it may be full of onion roots.

They are called "Empress bush beans".
I got them from this guy:
But he seems to be sold out. His seeds have all been very good and he has a good selection of other bush beans.

Slice it, bread it, and fry that bad boy up. Fried green tomatoes are awesome, so it's a fitting end for an Awesome tomato. For an extra special decadent treat -- Two slices of fried green t., topped with slices of bacon, a couple of poached eggs and either hollandaise or bearnaise sauce.

I want to eat at your house, Clovis!! Then you will enjoy this -- Today, I harvested lettuce for a Ploughman's. AG lettuce with Catalina dressing and blue cheese crumbles Sourdough bread from a bakery up the street, liberally festooned with butter Jarlsberg cheese Pickled Vidalia onions I don't know how that Guinness got in there, but far be it from me to question serendipity. Tonight, I shall harvest all the rest of the lettuce in that Harvest, then I'll break it down and clean it, and replant with other goodies.
