Worth a shot. HaHa!... Check daily for seedlings: I'm glad I wasn't drinking one when I saw those, because it would have come out my nose for sure. Final lettuce harvest -- There's about a week's worth of Ploughmans in there. Now I'm going to break this bad boy down and clean him -- I just hope I don't find a root-bound nightmare when I open it up. More later.

slw, you might harvest the tomato and let it ripen on the kitchen countertop. Lots of green tomatoes will ripen fully if they're beyond the "hard, very pale green, matte finish" stage when they come off the plant. If the skin is at all shiny, you just have to be patient. It amazes me how many of them ripen. EDIT: I like the awesome fried green tomato suggestion much better!

HARVEST! 9.4 ounces of lovely green beans for dinner tonight. Those Empress Bush beans are beyond gorgeous! I want some, and I don't even particularly enjoy green beans.

All clean. Now, ain't that purty? It will have curley parsley on the right and cilantro on the left. I know to give the cilantro seeds a little squeeze until they crack, but which does better in AG -- Santo or Calypso? I am leaning toward Calypso because it doesn't get as tall and all the sources I found said it is slower to bolt. Thoughts? Next door, I freed up some space to make room for six chives. I do love my chives and scrambled eggs. I have three already growing, and I'm going to stuff some AG chives pods with some extra seeds for the other three slots. And that's it for today.

You've got a skill with chives, clovis. Mine never looked that good.

You've got a skill with chives, clovis. Mine never looked that good. Thanks. I think I'm figuring it out. That biggest one is six weeks old. It's from my first Harvest's Gourmet Herb set, the one I put all six pods in the garden because . . . well, because it said to. It was quickly overshadowed in both a literal and figurative sense by the basil, and it didn't really start growing until I moved it out of the shade. The other two are three to four weeks old, and they're trying, bless their hearts. I am excited that I am now where I can devote an entire Harvest to chives. With nothing else in there, I can keep the hood low, keep them out of the shade from other plants, and harvest from all six. The stove is on the other side of the counter they are sitting on, which is handy for scrambled eggs and chives. Which I believe I shall go make now.

Just a little Fairy Tale update...
This is the 3rd Pickling cucumber; the plant is beginning to mature and putting on more babies. Also the next-to-last Dwarf Awesome tomato.
They are both being served with dinner...
Chard at 21 days and 2 AG cukes at 23 days...

Are your cukes in the bottom pic the ones you picked the cucumber from? What kind of cukes did you plant? I have 2 Divas which are finally starting to grow and my seed pack of Sweet Success cukes just came so I will probably start those too

The cuke is from a National Pickling cucumber plant. They are excellent little cukes but have to be hand pollinated (male and female flowers) which is a pain. Here's the NPC plant...

Great pictures, slw. I want some of those cucumber plants for my Pimm's. And the eggplants are gorgeous. Today, I found the tiniest wee little eggplant sprout starting to come up. I also planted some chives and cilantro, and I raided the icebox to get some scallion starts. (Some people call them green onions, but really, they're scallions.)

I finally terminated the last Dwarf Awesome tomato plant. I was surprised to find that it had several marble-size baby tomatoes and a bunch of blooms hidden in the canopy that was growing into the Bounty light. I saved one good-size tomato that has begun to "blush" and expect it will ripen just fine. The plant has been cut up and added to compost.
I did a thorough cleaning of the Bounty; that grow deck was a challenge to take apart. I soaked in vinegar solution, scrubbed, and got it all clean. Put it all back together and set it up with broccolini seeds as my new experiment.
I was putting all the stuff away and looked over at the kitchen window sill where the clean filter was still sitting. ARRRRRRRRGH. I had to remove the new pods, take the Bounty back to the kitchen sink and install the filter. I seriously need a checklist.
Decided to wait on the cilantro pods until tomorrow.

OOH, OOH, Broccolini! Yeah, Yeah!
That's on my short list of things to try. Please keep us posted on the progress of this one.

Mmmmm...Broccolini! Are you using the 'Asparbroc" seeds, or something different? I had planted those in a Harvest, but moved them outside in the early spring, so they didn't grow fully in the AG. They were delicious though!

They were delicious though! Yep; I got the Aspabroc variety. I don't know much about broccolini so I just ordered what I could find from Amazon. The planting instructions indicate that they will germinate in 7-10 days so here's hoping I get some viable plants. I put several tiny seeds in each pod to increase my odds.

Garden update, 12/14/2023 -- For starters, I unpacked and set up my newly arrived Harvest Elite Slim, then planted it with the six heirloom lettuce pods that came with it. I now have a dozen lettuce pods in various stages of growth. The goal is to be able to harvest a salad a day. (I find I do eat better when fresh produce is at hand. I am still eating on the big colander of lettuce I harvested three days ago.) My Fairy Tale eggplant, which was slow to sprout, and my scallions are both doing well. Those scallions were planted from the bulb end of grocery store scallions, and they are growing. Yaay! (Some people call them green onions, but really, they're scallions.) And I harvested some basil from the Jungle -- I know . . . It needs more trimming, but I cannot eat that much caprese salad and Margherita pizza. Which brings me to this happiest of discoveries -- You can put basil in a Pimm's cup, and it is freakin' gooood. (I hear you can also use basil in marinara sauce, but Pimm's is way more . . . uplifting.)

Today's harvest. Chard, assorted tomatoes (including the last Dwarf Awesome), one pickling cucumber and some banana peppers.
I harvested and dehydrated some sage, here it is in a 4 oz jar. Today I'm dehydrating dill and parsley is next.
My lovely Fairy Tale Eggplant plant. I have found about a dozen small eggplants hidden in there.

Wow! you've got more vegetables than my supermarket!
Eggplants are really handsome plants even if they didn't produce fruit.
