Three power blips so far this morning (two yesterday). I am really getting tired of resetting AGs.
14 kilowatt whole house backup
One of these would have been nice last week- out of power for 41 hrs. my poor plants, i keep telling them, it will be warm again soon. and they all survived. i did have some pepper flowers dry up, but rest of plants are doing great.

I have an iPhone and I always use the app to sync the gardens that are wifi connected, but I have several Bounty Basics and Harvest Elites that I have to manually reset. The clock set button doesn't appear when I use the iOS app with an iPad. I don't use the app on my iPad; just my iPhone.

TODAY:
Did an R&R on my peppers and tomatoes.
I'm taking a break from melon plants for awhile. I have nothing growing in the melon room. I'm trying to get rid of the powdery mildew spores. I've vacuumed the whole room a couple of times and I'm waiting a couple of weeks before planting anything else. From what I've read, the spores die quickly without a host.
I'm gonna plant some half-runner pole beans on my garment rack setup next. Then we'll get back to melons.
With regard to R&R, I usually add nutrients right after changing the water. I've always wondered if it would be desirable to let the plant sit in just plain water for a day. Would that make it easier for the plant to flush accumulated waste products from it's system?

I am slowly shutting down all active gardens over the next couple of weeks since we are planning some travel. Today I'm terminating 3 cucumber gardens and cleaning out those Bounties and my Farm.
Once my outside gardens play out and we get our vacation done I'll start planning what to do with the AGs. I'm going to try to pare down the number of active gardens to keep maintenance more reasonable.

I don't know the answer, but tompepper7 mentioned that he drained his gardens, refilled them, and drained and refilled them again after an hour or so. That sounds like a good thing to do. I haven't tried it, because it involves carrying so much more water back and forth from the upstairs bathroom. What I did today was do the R&Rs for three Bounties (2 veranda red tomatoes, 1 merlot lettuce). I also pruned the tomatoes to improve air circulation.

I noticed the Harvest is not on the Aerogarden website either. They only have a couple of Harvest models on there along with the Harvest 2.0. Also the Sprout with seed starter is $38 at Walmart.

TODAY.... I started topping off the Aconcaugua pepper. It's reached the lights at 46 inches. I could extend the lights a little more with a bit of work but I think the plant is just about full grown.
All-in-all, it's a rather handsome plant and seems happy growing in a bounty. This plant is rather lanky, more like a basketball player than a football player. There is a lot of stem length between nodes and the density is rather sparse. It's got about 20 nice 5-6" peppers. Not overly abundant but adequate. The peppers are not nearly as big as promised in the advertisements. The taste is good but not as sweet as others I've grown.
I've kinda let it grow without much attention. If you wanted to try it in a farm, you might be able to tame it to fit with frequent pruning.

TODAY!...
I terminated an XL full of parsley. It had been growing for quite awhile and produced quite a bit of nice dark green and tasty parsley. I knew I neglected it and only did an occasional R&R. I always thought it was growing a little funny and I had a lot of brown tips on the leaves that I never had before....
I finally figured out why!
PLEASE ADD ME TO THE LIST OF SHAME FOR AGAers WHO FORGOT TO PLUG IN THE PUMP!
eewww... the water looked and smelled like pond water.

UPDATE:
My yellow taxi tomato plant is starting to ripen fruit. So far, the size has been about 2.5 - 3 inches in diameter when they ripened. I'm sure I'll get a bunch of smaller ones as time goes on.
They are coming at a consistent rate of one or two every few days, slow enough that I can consume them myself
At some point I'll have to give some away as there are about 40-50 tomatoes on this 3 foot plant.
Definitely my favorite tomato. Mild, low acid, and very meaty!. Big enough and with the right characteristics to be considered a good slicer!

Yesterday I did R&Rs for 4 Bounties and a Farm. Today I started a new lettuce garden. I made the mistake of storing a harvested head of Merlot lettuce in a compostable bag in the fridge. The bag let in way too much air, and sort of mummified the lettuce leaves.

I spent the last couple of days breaking down and cleaning 8 Harvests (lettuce, cilantro, and basil). There's one more Harvest to go, plus a couple of Sprouts (chives and scallions).
And in case you are wondering -- Maintaining 11 Aerogardens takes just about the same amount of time as training a 2-year-old Siberian Husky mix not to chase squirrels, which we have aplenty in Kansas.
But he's getting there. I don't know whether it's that he is gaining some self control, or whether it's that I am betting better at recognizing when he wants to bolt and am learning how to head that off. Hopefully, it is a combination of the two. I can finally take him on a walk and not have to wear gloves to prevent leash burn.
He starts doggie graduate school in about a month.
Getting back to the gardens, once I get the last three cleaned, I will start bringing them back on line slowly until I determine the number needed to achieve proper doggie/Aerogarden equilibrium.

Beautiful dog, Clovis Sangrail ! The good thing about cleaning a bunch of Aerogardens is that you end up with a bunch of Aerogardens that are ready to plant! And that when you plant them, you won't have to do anything with them (besides water them) for several weeks!

HMMM...
All of my pole beans are curling around the "pole" clockwise.
I wonder if they wrap the other direction in the southern hemisphere?
