HMMM...
All of my pole beans are curling around the "pole" clockwise.
I wonder if they wrap the other direction in the southern hemisphere?
As above so below, mirror mirror, for sure the other way below the equator.

Are these Coriolis beans?
OR... do they spiral the other direction if you buy the seeds from a New Zealand seed vendor?

TODAY... HARVEST DAY!
After trickling a few tomatoes at a time for a couple of weeks, my yellow taxi ripened a bunch at once.
In a few days, I should get another bunch of about the same size....
and then it will be about done.... After all, it's a determinate.

Finished breaking down and cleaning the last Harvest and the two Sprouts. The Harvest went OK, except for the part where I had to dig through the trash to find the little spout the water comes out of because it fell out with all the chive roots. The Sprouts, on the other hand . . . . well, suffice it to say that it's a good thing I only have two of them because that is precisely the number of thumbnails I have that I tore chunks off of getting that damnable little motor our. No screws here. Just nail busting clips. And when I got them back together, I had to wham on one of them with a pair of pliers to get the pump to start. I have to say -- Not impressed with the quality. And if that's the direction Harvests are heading, we all need to stock up on replacement pumps so we can keep the Harvests we have going as long as possible. I'm not saying that those Sprout pumps were cheap, shoddy plastic crap, but I will say that when I looked up 'cheap, shoddy plastic crap' in wiki, there was a picture of one. Anyway, here's eight of the Harvests lined up and ready to go -- The ninth is just out of range to the right (real right, not stage right). I think I may have to switch it with the Harvest Slim on the right of the top shelf because it bothers me that the bottom row is all Harvest Slims, but the top row is three regular Harvests and one Slim. And here's the two Sprouts with some scallion starts. I had to get one or two back up and running because the AGs supply my living room light. Edited to add: There. That's better. Now they match across each row.

Today I terminated an elderly tomato plant, and am washing the Bounty it was in, in the dishwasher!

Today I measured my gardens and the corner of my hallway, and I ordered components to build some shelves. Right now I have: 1. Harvest with 3 bok choy from the AG kit and 3 black seeded Simpson lettuce from the AG plant it yourself kit. 2. Harvest with 3 basil plants ā one Genovese, one Marseillese, and one lime basil. They were in the Sprout, but they completely filled it with roots, so I switched them to the bigger garden. 3. Sprout with parsley and oregano. I just took the sage out because it already gave me more sage than I can use. Iām hoping the parsley will grow better without the sage in the way. 4. Three Aerovoirs, one for each garden 5. A Chia pet that I found when I was helping my daughter move out of her college apartment. Took some pictures, but I have to figure out how to add them to this post.

Today I terminated the Bounty strawberries, and did R&Rs for three Bounties and a Farm. The Farm has my two tomato plants, Vivacious and Homeslice.

lynnee, what's the final story on the "reverse-transplanted" strawberries? Did you get any strawberries?

scarfguy, I got at least two dozen (probably three dozen) tasty little strawberries. I terminated one plant after it stopped producing, because it was dropping leaves. The other plant, the one terminated today, was very healthy, and was producing runners rather than blooms. The two plants did fine without my adjusting pH, or adding anything other than AG nutrients. I decided to end the garden because strawberries are so fussy to grow--planting them in the first place was a salvage operation. But overall I'd say they did better, and were more productive, than the strawberries I grew from crowns. ššššš

Terminated a Bounty Merlot grow that has bolted. Did 6 R n R's on Bounty's as I let them lapse and sync up to each other, so now most bounty's are on the same schedule that I have going. Did a grow bucket R n R also because no screen to tell me times up.
Started a new lettuce grow 4 Merlot and 5 pods of a new salad mix as my ounce of older salad mix stopped germinating at a high percentage. I will split the grow up to 2 separate gardens at next nutrient cycle. Seems every other spot in a Bounty is a good fit for salad.
Noticed my other Bounty Merlot grow has also bolted at least 1 or 2 pods. Arggggggg enough for 1 day. Time to Relaxxxxxxxx.

Starting to get some gardens back up and running after major clean. Lettuce -- Three Rouge d'Hiver and three Parris Islands in the left Harvest; 6 miscellaneous AG heirlooms on the right -- Herbs -- Genovese basil, mint, and Thai basil -- Something new -- AG Tatsoi Scallions are growing and need a haircut, so probably scrambled eggs and scallions for breakfast tomorrow -- And since the pictures weren't all that impressive, here's one of my helper Yogi. It's way past his bedtime -- When you're a dog, bed is wherever you want it to be.

TODAY... I pruned a few large bottom leaves from my bell pepper so I could reach the water port easier.
This is an interesting small bell pepper called ALOHA. It is variegated red and yellow stripes when mature.
I haven't had much luck with larger bell peppers. My growth rate and foliage is so robust, the fruit grows in dense areas that don't have enough room for the pepper to grow. Last time I ended up with deformed fruit that was damaged and many rotted by breaking against the stems. I need to figure out how to elongate the plant so it has more room for the fruit. This time, I've moved the light a bit further away rather early in the life cycle to see if I can get the plant to grow taller. These are looking really promising though...

Those Bell Peppers look great !!! scarfguy I use small tomato cages outside to give them support which mostly they never need. I do get many deformed fruits as they grow on top each other or to close together in 1 way or another. In the end they still taste great. I save the pretty ones to stuff with meat n rice n stuff. That picture is making me hungry

Hi everyone. Hope your summer is going well. My outside gardens have played out for the most part. We have pulled up all the cucumber vines, tomato plants, bush beans and dwaft okra. Most of my tomatoes were a huge disappointment with a horrible invasion of squash bugs that stung and messed up most of my crop. This was the worst year for bugs that I can remember. Anyhow I'm taking a gardening break and will be firing up the AG's in a month or so after we return from vacation.
Currently all my Aerogardens are in hibernation except for a single Harvest Elite in the kitchen that contains two Red Robin cherry tomato plants. It's actually nice just caring for a single small garden so I don't know if I'll ever have as many AGs active as I did last year. When AGing turns into a full-time job it's not fun any more!!
In keeping with my AA status, I'm considering buying a Harvest 2... mostly out of curiosity. I have some Amazon rewards $$ so I can get one for a few dollars. I've been wanting to see how the lights work and check out the single-layer grow deck. I know it would be silly to buy one but I am not known for my sensibility.
SG--your peppers look great!! I usually have a couple that get wedged between the trellis and the stalk and look all wonky but they taste fine.

Speaking for everyone here (which I have no right to do)...
slw, we will appreciate your sacrifice of purchasing a Harvest 2.0 for the purpose of providing us all with a thorough review!
